My most recent flights have have been similar. F wide open until the gate, and on one flight even leaving with empty F seats, and still no advanced UG's.

Confirmed upgrade 3 hours before flight
I'm a new dm. An interesting thing happened to me yesterday. I got a confirmed upgrade about three hours before the flight.. I had previously thought they stop confirmed upgrades after you check in. Or 24 hours before the flight.. Anyone else have this happen to them?
One more question. On a flight tomorrow, I am on the upgrade list as 7 out of 11 from Rsw to atl.. I have only been flying delta for a year, but even when I was gold, I usually had higher rank in the upgrade list. Granted I am on a v fare, it still seems odd that of the 11 people who checked in, only 4 are not diamond? do you guys think this is an error? I just upgraded to new delta app. Or is this common? Sorry new here, but I've been lurking for a while. I certainly don't want to appear as a do you know who I am type. |

If there was a new thread started each and every time FCM (or however else you wanted to refer to it) personally affected someone, particularly an "entitled" DM, first two screens of the forum would be filled with nothing else.
Also, the benefit of having a single focused thread is so that everyone sees all of the issues and rants in one place. There just needs to be a separate thread for those who are leaving for a stroll on greener grass elsewhere - not knowing whether it's growing over the cesspool or just green painted gravel. But if it's still that way at, say, T-12H, I'd guess that something is wrong. (It's also possible that there are platinums using RUCs who haven't cleared yet; they'd also be ahead of you.) |

That is why you sometimes see a disclaimer that no item may have been sold at the MSRP. It would seem that suggesting that you can get an upgrade 5 days before flight is equally misleading if no such upgrades occur any more.

Booked a LAX/LAS RT first weekend in March last week. Logged in today to email my itinerary to someone and saw an offer to upgrade for $79RT. This was about $200 less than what was offered during booking. No status.

Just made a reservation in coach and then went to change my seat selections. The FCM ad was next to the seat map, with the message that all I had to do was click on my new FC seat and the UG would be processed for the specified price. Now they are making it easy (and, often, cheap) even for lazy people to do it. |
