I wish DL was aggressive with F/J fares in general as they are with post sale solicited UPG. I'm doing a bunch of TPAC, SYD,AKL and HNL this year and DL is pricing out pathetically for F/J.

I don't think any ATL routes truly classify as Tcon.

FYI, on the earnings call yesterday, one of the execs mentioned that Domestic First Class paid load factor had reached 49% during Q4 2014...

Also my "favorite" was:

"ramp up our merchandising efforts with branded fares and enhanced customer segmentation" - said Ed Bastian, Delta's president.

If they want to get to 80% (which is Delta's self-professed metric) guess they'll have to drop the price.

Looking into booking a roundtrip flight ATL-SRQ. Coach price: $280, F price: $410.

Yikes

There is always an excuse by delta when it comes to fcm.....where was this talk when they illegally filed for bankruptcy in post 9 11 .....I don't seem to remember it's for profit back then.....do u think the union or management could ever concede on their end to give the loyal customer a better experience.....delta is nothing less than a government agency bailed out that is now taking advantage of its customers.....and this delta one thing in march is nothing more than a way to have elites be in ec and take away all upgrades....I truly believe someday that first class will be strictly purchase with dollars or miles and there will be an upgrade list for ec......delta can't see the forest through the trees and in the next economic downturn I don't want to hear any complaining by delta

With that statement was the data point that domestic F seat count was up 8% in the year. That can generally be attributed to CR9/717 flying replacing CRJs.

"illegally filed for bankruptcy"? What was illegal about filing for BK?

Does that mean dividing us up into camps that fight each other?

Maybe VA Ave does pay attention to FT.

;)

All the one's that used to care have moved on to other jobs. The new one's don't see any value in FT'er. :o IMO

Delta was propped up by the government just like gm how many other businesses get a free ride like that from the government tax payers.....if they can be regulated and propped up by the government than so should their prices.....airlines are not free market....they are monopolies controlled by the government

Airlines, are, most definitely, not monopolies. Oligopoly, yes. And bankruptcies either restructure or "forgive" debts. There is no subsidy by the gov't in them.

I don't see what the big deal is with FCM, clearly there is demand for paid upgrades. And they are just trying to perfectly price discriminate by advertising different prices to different people. Flame away!

Easy. It's a big deal to OP because he is not getting a lot of free upgrades.
