Sat JFK-DEN with dinner service went out with three empty F seats on 739. Rarity IMO.

Think I once posted this... DTW-ORD and back, on the morning or evening commuter times, averaged 80% Gold+ (ok, way back when). Probably still the same, even to this day. That was on DC9s and A320s, so there were close to 90-95 Elites on the flight.

ATL-MSP this afternoon had 71 on the upgrade list. Sadly, that's not even close to the longest upgrade list I've seen. What was unusual was that I was #3 on the list as DM on an L fare, and a total of 11 people cleared at the gate.

Only logical explanation. Delta would rather give those seats away for $30 (obviously only to Kettles, Diamonds will see the upgrade option for $200+) than let 11 clear at the gate. Never seen such numbers (without there being some crazy IRROPS impacting inbound connections). I'm so used to being #5-10 for 0 that the notion of 11 people clearing at the gate seems downright alien.

58 on the Upgrade list for 0 seats. No F seats had been available for about a week. On an MD-88.

DAL-ATL Thursday night. Over 60 on the list for 1 seat on a 717. Of course, this was during some WX so things were all over the place.
I gave up my RU seat when my original flight was delayed to get an earlier one, then that one was delayed even more, so I ended up back on my original flight with a seat in C- and not even in the top 10 on the UG list. Oh well.

I know it was a Saturday but today's AA JFK-LAX had a whopping 4 people on the UPG list......I cleared 4 days prior for free so just reporting the huge difference between the two (heaven forbid someone should have to buy some 500 mile stickers to get a flat bed!)
