Sis was on a CR9 last night with 2 in F, 2 in C+, and 11 in the back. That's 15 for you folks counting at home.

I was traveling on a Z fare yesterday BOS-ATL and the upgrade list was 81 people on a A321. One of the longest I have ever seen but it was Thursday afternoon.

MSP - ORD Monday AM Reliably Long

In my experience the early Monday morning MSP-ORD flight has one of the most reliable long upgrade lists.

Today it was DL2424 departing at 7AM. The first class upgrade list was 85 deep for a A319 (so 71% of the main cabin was on the upgrade list). As a Diamond on an M fare (with a Reserve Card) I ended up as #4 . I think the corporate partner priority has some influence here.

The FCM on NYC-Texas routes can sometimes (normally?) be found for about $80 each way. Not a bad value for a 3.5 hour business flight with a meal.

I was offered it for $109 at check in which still isn't terrible.

Would love to see that! I've flown SAT-JFK numerous times and never seen anything close. Current offer for my trip over President's Day weekend is $273 each way. I have been able to confirm RUCs at booking before which was nice.

I have gotten $80 - $90 (8000-9000 miles) FCM offers on LGA-DFW, LGA-IAH, and JFK-AUS. This is the only FCM that has been cheap enough to push me to WFBF. I am guessing that NYC-SAT is a less competitive route that does not command the FCM offers. Either way, on all flights there was a 20-40 person upgrade list while I sat upfront for 8000 SkyPesos.

I stop being loyal to one airline about 5 years ago for this exact reason. I see no reason to pay more for a flight on Delta if United was cheaper just for status. I found it almost impossible to upgrade. Boarding first, priority lines, dedicated phone lines mean nothing to me. I remember back in the 90’s and 2000 I routinely was upgraded. Today it just old memories. I would fly Spirit nonstop vs transferring in Atlanta just for status, and they have the “Big Front Seat”for only $50.

In these end times that we live in, may I offer a counterexample to this thread: ATL-JFK tomorrow, 739, 13 open F seats, no one on the upgrade list.

ORD-MSP today, Wednesday 10/26. In town for Pack Expo, my evening flight upgrade list is 54 deep on an A319 and the earlier flight I'm standing by for is 77 deep, also on A319.

All 4 remaining flights today are even or oversold, and fully checked in. I'm in paid F, and no options to get me home earlier besides standby, even through DTW or SLC.

Not sure what you are asking. Flights are sold out, travel is tight these days. Options are limited in these situations.

Sorry, wasn't asking anything, I know I don't have any options, should've stopped the post at the long upgrade list...thought it was long for a Wednesday.
