I was referring to QM2 solo cabins. I would only go outside if it's warm, and on cruises I have room service every morning and don't leave until about noon unless it's a port day, which I get off early as I can. I cruise for relaxation and to see new places. My cabin will be like the one in this video:

I am so sorry, I DID have you confused with the other poster. LOL. You must think me completely bonkers. Anyway, those staterooms are new additions from a recent refit. I've noticed a few lines are starting to add single rooms lately. Although QE2 had them in all classes back in the day. Glad to see Cunard is getting with the program.

Im booked on that Queen Anne January crossing you referred to. I have crossed on QE2, QM2, QV and QE in the past but cant comment directly on QA since this will be her first time across the pond. Since Im paying a single supplement, I stick to Oceanview cabins on crossings and favor deck 1 midship for stability and easy access to most of the public areas.

Youll be fine in a two piece suit and tie. Dont get too worked up about the marketing fantasy.

True this. We still dress on the lines we frequent, but we like to "dress elegantly" as my husband likes to say. Sports coat with either a polo or button down and khakis on first and last nights, black tie on formal nights, and suit and tie the rest of the time. Really about the only cruise line that tries to enforce the traditional dress is Silversea, but most of their customers are the jacket and tie/cocktail dress sorts when they go out on land so it's something they're used to.

I don't know your habits, but one thing you are likely to find in QG is that your fellow passengers are likely to be a bit more formal in their dress, especially transatlantic. If you don't care about that sort of thing, then you may want to consider hitting at least the minimum. I know there are people that get their backs up about that sort of thing...you should see some of the discussions about it over the years on CruiseCritic. Many ladies still wear long gowns, cocktail dresses, and nice jewelry.
Have fun! I envy you.

Congratulations on your upgrade, especially at minimum bid.

I find them fascinating, as some people appear to sail purely to people watch and judge what others wear! It's extraordinary how upset some of these individuals become if people do not measure up!
That said, with many lines relaxing traditional dress codes, Cunard is really the only line available to those who demand all fellow passengers dress accordingly for traditional formal nights. The others have chosen to target a well healed younger crowd who don't have the same enthusiasm for wearing ball gowns and tuxes.

There are even Facebook groups dedicated to traditional cruising and dress...

There are quite a few cruise ships that offer superior accommodations, dining and service to Cunard which have a more relaxed dress code, so you could always consider one of those.
