Applied for both personal and biz but only the personal application showing. I guess the status site only shows personals.

At first I called because I couldn't find an olympic link but was told the computer automatically processes the olympic bonus.

You can call the USB recon number (don't know it off the top of my head, but should come up through a simple Google search) and it will give you an option to check the status of a business app. BTW, if it says declined wait and talk to a live person to find out more as in my case the system said declined (for the business), but it was just them wanting to do a simple verification of my personal info. Once I provided that the agent told me that it would move back to credit for approval. A couple of days later I could see the business credit card online.

Thanks. I phoned and my personal had been approved and he also saw my biz application in process. I'm 16/24 on TU and 12/24 on EX which I believe they pull.

With the Olympic bonus that will be over 70K Flex Points eventually.

I have heard of some bloggers reporting this, but no confirmations.
My experience (right now, while I'm holding) is that they can book the Wanna get away fares but it requires the agent to call Southwest and then manually input it into their system. I don't know if I got an excellent agent or if they are all this good, because when she quoted me a 30,000 point quote all I said was, "Oh, really?" and she checked the Wanna Get Away fares to see if that would be cheaper. I've been on the phone for about 25 minutes now but it apparently can be done.

US Bank strategy: 40K KE (preapproved) + Olympics offer (missing application)

I applied for the FlexPerks card on the last day of the Olympics promo and got a "pending" notice. Since then the application status has said "You don't currently have any pending applications." I haven't gotten a denial letter or called in to see what's going on. I didn't freeze my GMO or my BPA or whatever it is. I've had the Club Carlson card for two years (and didn't freeze them when I got that).

Yesterday I got a preapproval in the mail for the Korean Air card with a 40K bonus if I apply by November 30. I'd rather get that card than the FlexPerks card, but ideally I'd get both (I'm happy to wait until the last moment for the KE card). So...

1. Would US Bank approve two personal cards in less than three months? I was at about 9/24 with Chase and then just got the CSR in-branch. Are they receptive to moving credit around from my Club Carlson card?

2. Do I have any recourse for reconsideration if they approve me for the Visa Classic (only a 5K bonus) instead of the Visa Signature?

3. Is it typical for US Bank (or any bank) to "lose" applications? I do have a screenshot of the "We're reviewing your application" message.

4. Does US Bank preapproval by mail generally result in ultimate approval? I see some yes, some no on another thread, but I didn't see a strong trend one way or the other.

Thanks,
Seth

I assume the answer to this is "no," but does US Bank have any known standards for approvals? I keep reading differing scenarios for approvals/denials based on those who have opened many new applications. I assume this is arbitrary? I'm interested in applying but it seems like the odds are 50/50. As a data point, I have 2 Club Carlson cards with US Bank. I'm at 15/24 overall currently.

I was approved for the Amex Gold and then the Visa Signature maybe ten days later (no additional inquiry for the second card). USB discontinued the Select+ card when they changed the lineup earlier this year, so there's no possibility of getting that card when applying for the Signature.

Thanks; this is very helpful. The Classic card (same as Select+?) was still mentioned on the materials I got in the mail, but maybe they haven't been updated.

I finally got my 2500 points from an offer requiring spending $500 in May and June. So it took about 10 weeks for the points to credit. Speed is not their strong point.

Unable to book non-US flights

For the past couple of days I have been trying to book a flight entirely outside the US using the Flexperks Rewards site. Result:
We are sorry but there are no flights available on Reward Travel-participating airlines that match your request.
Possible Causes:
This could be a peak travel time for your destination.
Your search may have been restricted by airline, stops, fare class, or fare type.
It seems that you can't book anything unless either origin or destination are in the US. And I mean strictly the 50 states + DC.

YYZ-YVR fails
LHR-CDG fails
FRA-SIN fails
even SJU-STT fails, and those are almost US destinations

What is going on here? Just a web site hiccup or intentional change of the Flexperks redemption possibilities?

I signed up for the US Bank photo contest this month. Would anyone be willing to throw me a vote or two? I'm hoping to win some points for a free ticket home for Christmas.

Instructions:
1. surf to my photo in the US bank contest page
2. log in (with either your facebook OR flexperks info)
3. find my photo in the gallery page -- the black and white misty mountain -- OR just use this direct link again
4. click the red "vote" button

I just did this as well. Although, I was able to skip calling SW by (i) adding my RR # to the SW confirmation # online; and then (ii) viewing the confirmation # of an "existing reservation" not shown; and (iii) canceling. Took me 5-10 minutes before I figured that out. Now that you know, should take you 5.

I applied for flex perks amex and visa personal same day. Few days later applied for business flexperks...approved for all three. Also have club Carlson personal and biz for a while so it is possible.

In your first example above, do you mean that you saw a fare for $398 on SW website, and Flexperks quoted $360.37 and charged 20k points? How much SW travel credit did you get when you canceled the ticket?
