Has anyone booked a southwest ticket with flexpoints? I know if you call in and book southwest as long as it is not a wana-get-away fare. So if I find a fare as close to $400 and book with points, then cancel it and use it to rebook the cheaper wana-get-away fare through southwest would that be viable? I have heard of some bloggers reporting this, but no confirmations.
My experience (right now, while I'm holding) is that they can book the Wanna get away fares but it requires the agent to call Southwest and then manually input it into their system. I don't know if I got an excellent agent or if they are all this good, because when she quoted me a 30,000 point quote all I said was, "Oh, really?" and she checked the Wanna Get Away fares to see if that would be cheaper. I've been on the phone for about 25 minutes now but it apparently can be done.
