Is anybody paying rent with a different card, like Alaska or Double Cash and 3% fee? Do you know what's the MCC for such transaction? Thanks.
Edit: should clarify this is on the ascent as card |

Anyone finds that the Home away from Home hotel price on Bilt travel portal is more expensive compared to Kayak, Priceline, etc... ? I checked a few and found nothing worth to book through their portal

Has anyone else seen extremely aggressive Wells Fargo purchase checks recently? Seems like every other online order I attempt using my Bilt triggers the WF "making sure it's you" prompt, requiring me to log into my app to confirm a purchase. Half the time I confirm and it errors out anyways.

October 1 Rent Day bonus seems to be that you can get up to 50% more value redeeming your points at Amazon.
Still a weak redemption. That's it? Has to be the worst Rent Day yet. |
But don't forget the comedy shows!

Hoping to see some DPs in this months rent, but I am seeing language on the Bilt site mentioning that the Summit card earns 3x. This same link also only mentions the “visa signature” card in the leading paragraph so YMMV and please post DPs

Whatever you linked are not the actual terms for this benefit. For the actual terms and conditions, see biltrewards.com/terms/alaska |
(Prior Bilt thread, Jun 3, 2025) … of course Bilt truncates points, instead or rounding off or rounding up, continues to be annoying. Not a big deal on any 1 or 2 occasions, but over time we’re talking real points. Kinda like an airline using cashew pieces instead of whole cashews, very tightwadish*. I still don’t trust Bilt as far as I can spit, certainly far less than all other loyalty programs, still transfer Bilt points as soon as I get to the minimum required. (* “What does tightwad mean slang? Cheapskate. Meaning of tightwad in English: a person who is not willing to spend money”) To that end, my routine has been 4 self-service gasoline charges, between $1.01 and 1.11, each month, sometimes on the 1st of the month. A year ago I could do 2 charges, one right after the other, at the same gas pump and station. The 3rd attempted charge would be declined. The past 2-3 months, including today, I could only do 1 charge at the same gas pump/station at 3-4 different gas stations. Attempted 2nd charge is declined. Fortunately there are 5-6 gas stations between my home and my regular grocery stores/supermarkets. I’m happy that the “declined” thus far is ONLY for that 1 gas station, I’ve been able to use the card successfully at another gas station 3-5 minutes later. |
Etihad Guest has been added as one of the two new FF programs coming to Bilt, they have pretty ample coverage with other CC programs, so not a huge addition

Apparently mortgage is going to be limited to only one company - UWM. I read reddit reports that they have reputation of selling mortgages to other companies pretty often. Kind of a bummer

Every few years, we see these hyped financial data mining companies where the idea of monetizing the consumer data to various companies might have financial benefits, but I actually think because Bilt is rather complicated to get real benefits, it is going to be full of gamers who will milk the system. Bilt needs this today to show volume and reach, especially among larger HHI users, and I know the Bilt mortgage tie-up is to get to even more households, but it seems to be mostly to get a big investment from UWM. UWM thinks it might drive customers to them, but I remember when those hotel or airline point programs were so prevalent when you are getting a mortgage - you pay for it somehow and getting a loan without that setaside kickback or higher rate is always better. I totally understand people participating today to take rewards from the investor money as fast as possible, but you really don't want UWM unless they are absolutely best interest rate or deal for your situation. |

Just received the following e-mail:
"Mark your calendar: February 7th, 2026 https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/me...png?1762183873Bilt Card 2.0 officially launches February 7th, 2026. In early January, we'll be hosting a special event where we'll reveal our three new cards. After the announcement, you'll be able to select which cardą is right for you, and we'll deliver it to your door ahead of launch—so you're ready to go from day one. Want to be the first to know when we drop the full details? Sign up at biltrewards.com/card for early access." " Your card number stays the samehttps://ci3.googleusercontent.com/me...png?1762189669All your major subscriptions, autopay, and saved payment methods stay the same. And everything in the Bilt app transitions over with no action needed from you.Digital wallets auto-updatehttps://ci3.googleusercontent.com/me...png?1762193235Your Apple Pay and Google Pay will automatically refresh with your new card.No hard credit inquiryhttps://ci3.googleusercontent.com/me...png?1762189675Select from three new cards1 with no hard inquiry on your credit report.Earn points on mortgageshttps://ci3.googleusercontent.com/me...png?1762189660In addition to points on rent, your new Bilt Card 2.0 will let you earn points on mortgage payments, regardless of who your mortgage servicer is."(Bolding mine) No hard inquiry for the new card thank god. And any mortgage provider earns points? Hopefully the card stays free. |
They are saying no hard inquiry, but I have to wonder whether this is in fact going to show up as a new trade line in credit reports. I don't like the language about the ability to "transfer" your balance from your existing Wells Fargo account to the new Cardless account. New trade line definitely matters more than a hard inquiry for many of us.
