I’m pretty sure that a triple dip like this would be well discussed here and on some of the blogs yet I haven't seen that so I think I’m missing something. Please advise. Thank you.

Technically its not a triple dip, you only get the bonus points from Lyft, not the base points.

Any problems expected with deleting a card shortly after the points (for linking) post? Any T&C which specify “linked card must remain open and linked for 1 year, for 6 months, in perpetuity” ;)?

you can unlink it right away if you want.

I believe voting is finished. When it was available over the past 4-5 days, it was a tapable link on the mobile app, not sure if it could have been done on the full desktop website, some functions are not possible on the full desktop website.

Best of my knowledge the normal way is the only way. If done during the promotional period should automatically receive the additional bonus points.

Thank you. I don’t understand. The triple dip I was referring to in my example would be Hilton, Chase and Bilt. Hilton as the linked program in the Lyft app, Chase as default CC payment method in Lyft app, Bilt as having Chase CC linked to Bilt account. Thinking that one of those 3 might cease after linking the Chase CC to Bilt account.

Thank you. I was wondering about any problems due to unlinking right away, for example Bilt clawback.

Other than seeing how the card is used, what is the benefit to Bilt of linking a credit card?

Presumably Bilt gets a kickback from Bilt Dining restaurants as long as it drives customers there - regardless of which card they use to pay

Ughh card compromised again today… thankfully WF blocked what was clearly a $10 “test charge” and I received a notification on my phone so I was able to open the app and lock my card and then request a replacement.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but i feel like I’ve seen more complaints about fraud on this card product than any other.

Took me trying 5 different cards because some just didn't work, but still can't say no to an easy 2k points for zero spend!

Mission not accomplished, unsure if mission is actually possible.

On March 1st I linked several credit cards, mainly for the 2K points, but also in a (hopefully not quixotic)quest for the triple dip described above. One of the cards linked was my Chase card that is my current default payment for Lyft rides. Did a Lyft airport ride on March 2. 3x Hilton points posted immediately, Chase account shows 5x points to be earned on my next statement, Bilt shows bupkis.

AFAICT, other than the Bilt points for the initial linkage, theirs no benefit to linking a credit card to my Bilt account.

My understanding is that you won't get the 2x Bilt points if you have Hilton as your preferred partner but that the spend SHOULD count towards the fast track to Bilt status. I feel like I've seen the dollar counter move up on my Fast Track when paying with the CSR(added to Bilt wallet) but I also have Bilt as my preferred partner in Lyft so no way of knowing if that is a requirement or not without doing more testing than I feel like(sorry).

Yes - pretty sure the Lyft connection is not via watching credit card charges like the dining connection, but rather linking Bilt and Lyft via their apps.

I get extra points on my Lyft rides that are charged to a card that is not linked to my Bilt account.

Thanks for the replies. Makes the implication in the screenshot I posted above (# 649) downright deceitful.

Check your rent points for March. I only received the lower default 250 points, even though rent was put on my Bilt MC, and I made at least five transactions during the billing period.

i submitted a ticket to Bilt Support and received a reply that it’s a “known issue” that they are looking into.

FYI- to get to the point where you can submit a ticket, you have to interact with the support bot which is a true exercise in frustration.

Scotttyd Mar 8, 2024 8:30 am

Hello- I got the 5x bonus for first 5 days- I tried to pay a vacation rental and it was rejected for "fee protect" I am confused. Bilt says they were not charging a fee, but they block it if the person sending the charge submits a CC fee- the vacation rental agency says they are are not charging a fee.

Also, they tell me if it is rent it won't get the 5x - which I get, but this isn't really rent, but I understand it depends on how the merchant codes it. BILT can't tell me if the charge was submitted as rent or not until they approve it. If it is rent, I will use a different card that I am working on a SUB on, any thoughts?

mia Mar 8, 2024 8:41 am

Fee Protect is a Bilt policy. It apparently does not matter if there is a fee in a specific case:

Fee Protect is described as a way to prevent you from inadvertently paying fees for paying your rent with your Bilt Mastercard. Rent payments made through the Bilt app incur no fee. However, if you attempt to use your Bilt card to pay your rent through your landlord’s website or payment portal, Bilt will automatically decline the transaction “to save you the fees” that your landlord might charge for using a credit card. In reality, this is a clever way to make sure that Bilt controls the rent transaction and has the opportunity to sell the landlord on a Bilt Reward Alliance partnership, but since payments through the app are fee-free, this won’t be a problem for most people.

Got mine, thankfully

A friend didn't get 2x on AirBNB for travel. I told him to chat with Bilt. They verified it. Not for vacation rentals.

Very strange. But for me, I have enough travel to justify my Chase Sapphire Reserve, so I'll make sure to stick to that for most travel, even on Rent Day.
