Not all issuers allow cardholders to "cycle" a credit limit in the way that you expected. Part of this is an anti-fraud safeguard. The first payment(s) from new customers may not immediately increase available credit, because they have not yet verified that the cardholder is authorized to use the bank account that made the payment.

Do we have previous reports of folks unable to cycle credit with the Bilt card in this fashion? I'm aware that some banks do this, but given the 5-day SUB I suppose I would have expected it to be well-documented if that were the WF policy on this card.
This would take a combo of someone who got the offer, got a low credit limit, has the ability to spend beyond their credit limit, and has the cash available for Wells Fargo to pull ASAP. That combo might not be too common. |
I finally gave in and got a Bilt Rewards account and signed up for their credit card.
- Kids paying rent alone was 50k a yr Nice package in the mail 2-3 days later. Activated it Info - your Bilt account is not the same as the Wells Fargo account; Bilt uses your email; Wells Fargo uses a userid My landlord is currently paid by ACH SENT from my bank account, i.e., my bank sends an ACH payment to his bank account Bilt sends a check by mail or gives you the ACH info so the landlord can PULL the money from your "rent" account Bilt gives you an ACH routing number and a "bank" account number you can use to give your landlord to pay rent I have not found a way to pay someone by ACH from Bilt "bank" account Anyone with more experience please let me know. Mods, I hope this is correct forum - feel free to move Second issue When I logged in to the Bilt App, it found 20 of my credit card accounts - must have read my credit report when I applied, as all my accounts were there- and invited me to LINK THOSE accounts to get rewards for paying rent! I thought Bilt worked only with Wells Fargo! can I double dip?? Can I use my Capital One visa account to let Bilt pull cash for rent and get both Bilt Rewards and Capital One miles ??? Anyone with expertise / experience linking Bilt Rent to non WellsFargo, please post or pm me. Thanks |

No, linking it will only lead to spend on your other cards counting towards Bilt "status" and if you eat at "Bilt Dining" venues and Pay with a linked card, you get those bonus points. You don't get to double dip.
- will the spend on Cap 1 get me Bilt Status or do I have to go through the app ?

From the Wells Fargo Bilt dashboard.
My landlord gave me his ACH routing number and account - can I pay that from Wells fargo Bilt dashboard? From Bilt - I cannot see an option other than to write a check to him and mail it (and if lost in mail - more issues)

But I've had issues with Plastiq sometimes, or more specifically with USPS. Feels like USPS has gone downhill in the past couple years, much higher incidence of not receiving personal mail (like health insurance reimbursement checks that I know were mailed), and I'd say 5-15% of Plastiq checks never arrive at my leasing office and then I had to have Plastiq void it and stress to the office to please not deposit any check that might arrive because it was voided.
It also looks like you need to make 5 purchases per period to be eligible for points earn. I am not sure if the rent payment is counted in that, and if so, if you can just make 5 partial rent payments. Online people have reported it as "five non-rent payments" so I'm going to assume I need to make five payments outside rent per statement period which is no big deal. The way the T&C is written would seem to allow just making five partial rent payments but I'll let someone else be the guinea pig for that. |

If you're not in the alliance and Bilt is sending a check, maybe there's different limits like one per 30 days as you say, I wouldn't know about that. It's not true in every scenario though. Also, regardless of what the case is, that wasn't really the question I was posing back then which is whether the rent payments counted toward the 5 transactions or not (it does). |
I was quoting from the Bilt website that I was reading through at this time

Not sure why you quoted my two year old post, but this is wrong. My building is in the Bilt Alliance and generally posts monthly rent to the ledger around the 29th and then water and other misc things come in on the 1st as that's when their third party vendor sends over the numbers. I often pay them separate and both transactions earn points, and both count toward the 5 transactions.

I have not found a way to pay someone by ACH from Bilt "bank" account … (from the Wiki) Links to Bilt Rewards Terms of Use and Evolve Bank & Trust (Bilt Technologies) Customer Account Agreement. The Terms state “Bilt may make available to you a Bilt Rent Account (“Account”), which is a transaction bank account that can be used by you solely to make rent payments.” The Agreement states: “For the avoidance of doubt, the Account is a transaction bank account that can be used by you solely to make rent payments. For the avoidance of doubt, this is not an account that you may use to deposit or withdraw funds for any other purposes outside of rent payments.” |
Any data points on how long the Bilt card takes to ship? Is there any way to ask for expedited shipping? (So that it arrives before March 1st). And is the 5x points on purchases in the first 5 days a standard offer to all new card holders? Thanks in advance, all!

… Bilt MC is shipped via trackable no-signature-required First Class mail in a small (4.5” x 6.5”) white box with unique packaging inside as pictured at the bottom of this post. As of Feb 2024 no reports of expedited shipping. Reports on this thread starting in late November 2023 indicate this "quasi-SUB" may be offered randomly and/or only to some people, selection criteria unknown. This post may be the only report of being offered the quasi-SUB prior to Bilt Mastercard application, based on existing Bilt Rewards account. Bilt's “quasi-SUB" is offered via an email and a text message notification the same day as card receipt informing of 5x/5 days/max 50K (email quoted verbatim in this post). (Quasi* due to very short duration in contrast to many traditional SUBs of 3 month duration.) Please note this quasi-SUB maxs out at $12,500 (not $10,000) and tax payments will count. No reports yet of returns and their effect on quasi-SUB. (* “quasi-“ a combining form meaning “resembling,” “having some, but not all of the features of,” used in the formation of compound words: quasi-definition; quasi-monopoly; quasi-official; quasi-scientific.)… |
They're currently doing a "playoff bracket" for what the March 1st rent day bonus should be, and it looks like it's down to 1000 points for linking a cc (!! free points!) or 5X points on Groceries (on rent day).
Hope the CC points win because it's EASY free points |

I am having the same issue as described in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/biltrewards...aying_it_isnt/ Anybody had the same issue?
I have confirmed it three times, and also received the email for 3 times, however the app seems to have some glitch and keep asking me to confirm, so I could not even view my renter award account number. I have online chatted, but the agent did not help anything! Any suggestions? Another problem is I heard new client should have 5X points promotion for the first 5 days, and people should receive notification when the card shipped. However I haven't received any txt message and email about it. The agent told me it's not for all clients, they were randomly targeted.. That's such a bummer. |
