As written in the Wiki: “Some or many or all people receive an email and text message notification the same day as card receipt informing of a “quasi-SUB* 5x/5 days/max 50K (email quoted verbatim in this post). Quasi due to very short duration in contrast to many traditional SUBs of 3 month duration. Please note this quasi-SUB maxs out at $12,500 (not $10,000) and tax payments will count. No reports yet of returns and their effect on quasi-SUB. (* “quasi-“ a combining form meaning “resembling,” “having some, but not all of the features of,” used in the formation of compound words: quasi-definition; quasi-monopoly; quasi-official; quasi-scientific.)”

As written in the post you quoted: “… many people, myself included, on the day they received their Bilt card, received an email and text notification of a quasi-SUB as per the middle of my post #332 on this thread.”

There are no reports of Bilt cards being received by FedEx/UPS. One person’s Bilt card shipping method and packaging which presumably are standard are described in detail, including photos, in post #332 of this thread.

Other recent posts on this thread corroborate your experience, it could be that the quasi-SUB (5X offer) has ended, either temporarily or permanently.

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/bilt-...ll-categories/

This just showed up on DoC. Pretty sweet to get 2x even on rent if true. From the lone comment there, the 10x dining is through Bilt dining.
  • Earn 10x on dining from 11/24 – 12/1 (on 12/1 you actually earn 16x points due to the double points bonus)
  • Earn 2x points on all 1x categories (including rent) 11/23 – 11/27
    • Starts at 12:00 AM ET on November 23rd and ends on November 27th at 11:59 PM PT. Use the card 5 times each statement period to earn points. Cardholders will get 2x (1x base, 1x bonus) on up to $20,000 of spend on all 1x categories.
    • After $20,000 of spend, you will continue to get 1x on all non-bonus category spend.
Note: Looks like DoC was incorrect about the rent part. Bilt's app says "excluding rent".

Did anyone get the 11/24 - 12/1 promo details? Was there supposed to be an email? Damn pissed off right now, did not get the 5X new user promo, and now I dont get the 11/24 - 12/1 promo? Is the Black Friday promo for everyone?

I didn't get an email either but it IS showing in the app.

Note that the 16x dining is only on "bilt dining", which covers only a small subset of restaurants. Regular dining is at 6x.

Yes, I received the e-mail, and the offer is identical to what fredc84 posted. Rent is not included, however.

Just go to the app or the website...should be there. I didn't get a notification, just saw that DoC article then checked my phone app.

For November RentFree I got: Name something that comes in packs: beer, gum, cigarettes, socks, wolves, cards.

Only reddit report I found was: Things you can do while working from home: sleeping, watching TV, exercising, laundry/cleaning, cooking/eating, scrolling.

BREAK

Wiki edited/updated to indicate "quasi-SUB" may no longer be offered.

Is this card worthwhile to someone who doesn't pay rent?

Yes. Even if you don't pay rent or HOA dues, you can still earn 2x on the first of the month, and there are sometimes bonuses with certain merchants. Transfer partners are respectable.

The only potential downside is there is some talk of the Bilt model being unsustainable, so if they reduce the benefits significantly or shut down completely then perhaps it would have made sense to save the new account or hard credit pulls for a different card.

Sure, we pay our condo fees with it. And 3x on dining transferable to many partners, including AA, is nothing to sneeze at on a free card. And currently, 6x on dining!

Are you sure it's 6x on dining right now? I thought the double points is only for unbonused spend. And the 6x won't be back until 12/1.

Terms are here:

Unless you're gettin 6x right now and have a datapoint to confirm . . .

Oh yeah, you're right, I got it confused with the 6x dining on rent day banner that's right below it... too many different promos at the same time...

The exact same question could reasonably be asked for ANY card regarding any benefit and the answer could be yes or no depending on a bunch of other factors including but not limited to number and types of other cards (which might provide similar or superior benefits).

In addition to (as mentioned) points for rent there are many reports of points for condominium monthly fees, perhaps the only fee-free card to do so. The card is issued by Wells Fargo, a possible upside or downside.

Excellent point. We may be seeing the start of “reduce the benefits significantly” with recent reports of no offered 5x “quasi-SUB” (for 5 days) upon card receipt. And in addition to a hard pull the card does count toward Chase 5/24, factors to consider even in the absence of benefit reduction and/or shutdown.

Thanks. I don't travel long distance much anymore (may 1 or 2 trips a year), so transfer partners are no longer a big attraction for me (I realize I am on FT). Plus, finding award space to maximize miles/points is difficult if not impossible when traveling with a family. I am trying to see if I can benefit from this card as I have "missed out" on other great cards/offers because I didn't bother to learn more about them.

I'm thinking of paying some taxes with Bilt to get 2X points... can anyone confirm if this will work, taxes should be a regular 1X category right?
