Just had a $25 Uber ride, and RTR triggered.

But I'd like to use the Travel Credits instead.

Or can I double-dip and use RTR and get the travel credits?

Retention: I only got 5K points, but at 1.5 cents that covers the difference between the $325 travel and $400 annual fee. Wish I got 10K, but OK with 5K.

Application DP

I applied and was denied for "5 recent accounts". I have 6 new cards in the last 12 months but the most recent was about a month ago so that may not be on my credit report yet. So assuming the criteria was 5 in the last year being too many. Was surprised to see they were that strict.

I had a Club Carlson card for a couple years from 2013-2015 and have had a Cash+ open for two years.

Since I so far have only been putting travel charges on the card I said yes. Now I have had a chance to see what the 6500 points were for an it was for a $65 EZPass charge.

Is EZPass considered travel by US Bank for purposes of earning 3x?
If a charge earns 3x should I be able to redeem points at 1.5cpp or is the list of categories for 1.5 cpp RTR redemptions different than the list of 3x earning categories.

Hoping to understand a little better. Regardless, I will call to ask if they can make a 1 time exception.

Thanks
Ezpass didn't trigger anything, it coded 1x and didn't use my travel credit to cover and didn't trigger rtr either so it's safe to say it doesn't count into travel

Code as cash advance or purchase?

Does anyone know if the card codes as a cash advance or purchase when funding a Citizens Bank checking account? US Bank sets cash advance at 25% of credit limit and I can't lower credit limit below $5k ($1k is max credit card funding at Citizens Bank). Thanks!

Got denied today . Probably 6 cards in last 6 months . 750 score 200k income. Have checking account with them . Sid was too many new accounts . I asked how many is ok and CSR said 3/12. Should I try again? Has anyone else had problems with this ?

This aligns with my experience, they have some threshold of new accounts in 12 months being automatic denial. If it is 3/12 like the CSR said, I wonder if that means they will approve you with 3 accounts opened in 12 months or if it's really 2/12.

We'll need more datapoints to be sure of course, and unfortunately I'm now at 7/12 and don't plan to be anywhere near 3/12 or 2/12 for the foreseeable future.

Applied for my second Altitude Reserve (closed first account as it was a joint account) in January. Was 4/6 , 9/12 and 16/24 . Tons of new accounts by any measure of time and was approved for 16.2K. USB banking customer for 3 years, have two other cards with them.

This has NOT worked for me in the past. I’d welcome any other datapoints, too.

I was 6/12 and applied in January and was denied instantly. I tried again in March still 6/12 status and was approved instantly. Wife was 4/12 and applied and got a “can’t reach a decision this moment” and then a week later the card showed up in the mail.

I have had a mortgage with US Bank since June 2018.
