Current welcome offer is 50,000 30,000 Crystal points with $5,000 $3,000 spending in the first 90 days. First annual fee not waived. (as of telephone call with bank employee 8/7/2019)

Past bonuses were:

***** #1502 - signup bonus 1/16/18 BUT ANNUAL FEE NOT WAIVED ******

100,000 points after spending $5,000 in first three months. Offer expires 30 December 2015. EXPIRED

A 70,000 points offer was offered back in March 2017 and expired March 31st, 2017. EXPIRED

The requirements for the application process varies from bank to bank based on various online data points collected from FlyerTalk, Doctor of Credit, etc.

Some banks require that you go into a branch and apply personally. Other banks want you to have another account open for 90 days before you can get this card. Some banks (if you already have a relationship with them) let you apply via mail. Sometimes you have to be a resident of the state they operate in, while some were able to get the card without living in those states. It is very much YMMV. You will need proof of income (W2, check stubs, etc). The only states City National Bank operates in are: NY, DE (only trust office, no go), DC, GA, TN, MN, NV & CA. The bank is looking for high net worth individuals, but that's not exactly consistent either.

The card has no foreign transactions fees and is fee-free the first year, then $400 annually.

Register your card for online access (cno.cnb.com). This changed on Sept 19 2019.
Register separately for the award page (www.cnbrewards.com).
Register for Visa Infinite info and access at https://myvisainfinite.com/cnb/en_us/home.html

DP UA Seat assignments

Just to confirm the sticky, seat assignment fees on UA do not trigger the fee reimbursement automatically. Had two economy plus fees that did not clear automatically. To confirm, this is actually listed in the T&C https://www.cnb.com/content/dam/cnbc...l-Benefits.pdf (page 51).

Qualifying Airline Purchases are defined as incidental airline fee transactions made at eligible US-Domestic Airline Carriers (each an "Eligible Airline") on domestic itineraries and include: ticket change/cancellation fees, checked baggage fees, in-flight entertainment, onboard food and beverage charges, airport lounge membership fees and day passes, onboard wireless charges (excluding Gogo Wireless), and TSA Pre✓® membership application fee1transactions, and may vary depending on the airline. Airline ticket purchases, seat fees (including upgrade and preferred seat charges), standby fees, carry-on and checked pet fees, mileage point purchases, mileage points, transfer fees, gift cards, duty free purchases, award tickets and fees incurred with airline alliance partners do not qualify as Qualifying Airline Purchases. Airport lounge fees not affiliated with airlines and transactions made with travel agencies are also not deemed to be Qualifying Airline Purchases. All incidental airline fees must be separate charges from airline ticket charges and must be made with an Eligible Airline.

I will say that the list of items that trigger the reimbursement in the T&C is pitiful and nearly useless as is. Plus incredibly challenging to navigate. It's like trying to sort out the free breakfast for platinums with Marriott. I like that you can get wifi unless it's gogo, which is, of course, nearly all wifi on planes these days. Who is is actually going to accumulate $250/card in the actually allowable fees that they otherwise would have been spending on anyway (sure, I can stock up on $250 in chips next time on the plane). Obviously there are other options to consider and I still like this card for many reasons, but this kind gamesmanship on the CC companies part (Amex included) is absurd. I'd much rather taken less and make it more flexible. Gotta hand it to Chase for making their reimbursement a real benefit that does not require any jumping through hoops.

I can safely say that MOST people that are Crystal card members, would highly disagree with you. The benefits are very easy to navigate. The rewards are much better than Chase. The T&C's are VERY clear. It is not designed to meet YOUR requirements. If you are unhappy with the card, then similar to people who do not like the Centurion card of the Chas Sapphire card or even the Citi Chairman card, you can always cancel.

They do NOT reimburse seat fees that are included in the original purchase. However, if you do an upgrade at the airport, they may reimburse them. YMMV In any case there is this: Please allow 6 to 8 weeks after a Qualifying Airline Purchase is charged for a statement credit to be posted to the Account.

Thank you! I know at some point you could use VISA for them (AMEX, too) but the rules keep changing.

Haha, I'm the epitome of lurker/researcher. I never felt I had anything worthwhile to add to the conversations. I'm happy to contribute if I have knowledge to share. However, I'm wiser now. I feel no shame in asking questions as long as people are kind with their responses.

I had a similar issue with amex plat on delta. I think the answer may work out the same. I was allowed to select seats, even if upgraded seats in coach and get reimbursed. However, on the leg that I upgraded to comfort plus from coach, it coded as a class upgrade (not misc) and the charged did not reimburse. In my example, the flight was purchased separate from the seat selection and upgrade purchase.

Purchased $150 AA e-gift card on 3/1. No rebate yet. All previous rebates for this year posted 7-9 days after purchase, it's now 10 days later with no rebate.

Update 3/12 rebate came through.

Is $100 airticket discount available to AU as well or does primary card holder must be part of ticket reservation?

Totally random. I got two United tickets using the Visa air discount. It billed directly from United, with the two tickets charged separately, both earning 3x rewards. One for $171.60, one for $71.60 after the $100 off. The $71.60 auto credited from the airline incidentals program.
I got two Alaska tickets using the Visa air discount. A single charge for both tickets minus $100 posted from Travel Services, Calabasas CA. This charge did not earn 3x rewards.
