Hi FTers: Have been monitoring this thread for awhile as I previously signed up for and received the Summer Olympics promo. I downgraded the card last summer (not sure what it was maybe something like Cash+) to avoid the annual fee.
Any thoughts or observations from the community on whether an applicant in this scenario would qualify for this promo?
TIA.

Applied today for both the personal and biz. Got screens saying I was approved and asking me to accept terms--22k and 20k credit limit. Cards to be mailed in 7-10 days. However, they also say the application may require further processing, in which case they'll send me a letter in 7-10 days. In addition, I got an e-mail re: the personal card saying they have my application and will reply in 7-10 days. Is this standard approval language? I don't remember any of this waffling language in my Club Carlson approvals.

Looks like the deadline was extended to March 14; however, you still have to make the first purchase my March 31 to get the medals part of the bonus...

I was approved for the business version yesterday. Was checking my other USB accounts online and the new business card was there, with $8500 limit. Hope it gets the Olympic bonus! Will confirm when I call to activate....

5 March 2014 update: Confirmed that Business version also gets Olympic bonus!

Wasn't gonna do it with the 3/7 expiration date, but now being moved to 3/14 I thought I'd go for a double play (pers & biz) b/c my Club Carlson last fall was instant approval. If they pulled Experian report I have really high inquiries (27).
Both pending.
So now I've got 8 days max to get approved before 3/14, and then have to get the card and a purchase processed by the 31st, or the rushed applications lose 15k points (7k+ olympic bonus each). That said, I wouldn't recommend anyone applying this week that isn't confident they'll get an instant approval. Ouch. Anybody dealt w/recon recently? I'll call in the morning.

Both went to verifications dept to be reviewed manually. 1st rep said personal card should have a decision in "2-3 biz days", and 2nd rep said biz card should have one in "3-5 biz days". Mentioned the limited time bonus terms needing to be approved by 14th and purchase processed by 31st, but that doesn't help. I asked if my app would be approved for the olympics bonus b/c I applied early enough, regardless of approval date, he put me on hold, came back and said today's the last day to apply (obviously doesn't know about the extension) & said as long as a first purchase proceses by the end of March, I'd get it.
Not too hopeful, but I'll keep calling. YMMV, cuidado with this one.

Applied on 2/26. Just got my rejection letter for the biz card - too many inquiries. True, I applies less than two months after my last application to get in on this offer. I suspect I'll hear the same from the personal card. Oh well. I really need to stop applying for cards that are a long shot. I just get dinged on my credit report and have nothing to show for it.
