US Bank Reconsideration Line: 800-947-1444
Use this phone number to check your application status as well. US Bank does not send you an approval/denial email. Many data points show 8-10 business days for decision is normal. Add another 2-3 weeks after that to receive physical card.

U.S. Bank Fraud Department - 800-260-8469. This is the number to call if your card starts getting declined when you try to make a purchase.

Why is the balance due on my business card always shown as $0?
There are TWO account numbers linked to your business card: The card itself, which shows up in the same website account as any personal cards you may have. This will always show a $0 balance due.

There is a SECOND account - labeled the "Central Bill Account" - with its own account number. You must set up a separate website account with its own username and password to access the Central Bill Account. This is the account that will actually show the balance due and let you schedule a payment. Somewhere in the paperwork you received with the card or the first paper invoice, you should be able to find the Central Bill Account's number.

Setting up separate website account for business card:

These are the instructions that US Bank emailed me:

To enroll in Online Banking for your U.S. Bank Business account, start by going to usbank.com. You do not need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) in order to enroll.

Please follow these instructions to enroll in Online Banking to view or pay your account:

1. Click on the Enroll Now link on the right side of the screen.
2. Select the Business Accounts option.
3. View the Terms and Conditions and then select Enroll Now.
4. Select I do not have a U.S. Bank small business checking or savings account.
5. Select I am an authorized officer of a U.S. Bank Business Credit Card.
6. Complete Step 2 of 2.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be able to view your business account in its entirety. When you are making a payment you will need to select the Accounts Payable account number.

Until the end of May 2015: "Bonus Award Night - Redeem Gold Points for two or more consecutive Award Nights and the last night is free. Exclusively for cardmembers.

From June 1 2015: free night after $10,000 spend in a year plus payment of annual fee. Note: can only be used in the U.S.

"New Account Bonus is not available to applicants who have had this Card or another Club Carlson credit card product within the last 12 months."

Forex fee is 3%

I have the same question, just I got approved for the personal card and am wondering if I should now do the business card?

When I read that we would really need 200k in the account, it seems like the plan might go out the window.
Read the thread in Club Carlson forum - it would give you more practical information on the actual booking of Club Carlson award. I learned quite a bit from there as we have never used Club Carlson properties before but this card is probably the best hotel card out there currently so we have jumped in and have a lot to learn.

If you travel in Europe a lot, this is a good card to get your award nights as long as the manufactured spend still working. Essentially even though the nights are not really free (you incur costs when manufacturing spend) your hotel costs are lowered a lot comparing when you dont have the points.

I applied for the Business card and got the "you will be notified via US Mail in 7-10 days and via email".

I believe the consensus is to wait and not try to force/call reconsideration or was this another bank...I just applied for four different cards today and I am getting mixed up while reading FT and updating my blog and drinking some fine red wine and listening to Pandora

Any insight on whether one can upgrade no-fee card to premier? I still haven't activated the no-fee card but changed my mind and want to get the premier card and pay $75.

I find patience to be rewarding with all but Chase.

Thanks - I hadn't looked at that thread before but have just learned a lot from it.

I'm with you in that we had never used CC properties before. The only experience I've had with CC was the old Goldpoints program, and that was only because of ValueMags back in the day.

It takes a lot for me to want to learn about a new program (have my brain full with Hyatt, SPG, Hilton, and Marriott), but this CC credit card convinced me that it's worth the effort.

The current triple points promo also looks great (again, I'm just getting into it, so this won't come to a surprise to many). Spending $1000 at a hotel appears to get a CC card holder between 70k and 80k points (80k if you can pay with the CC card, which I cannot when I travel for work). So spending $2000 gets one around 150k points, which is enough for 6 nights at a top property. This could easily be worth $1500 (so not quite mattress run worthy, but pretty close and also a terrific deal if you travel for work or need/want to stay at some CC properties anyway).

I expect you will get it in a couple of days, based on my experience.

Here's my data and timeline. Applied Feb 4, received T&Cs Feb 11, received (black) card Feb 14. Credit Karma 760+, 2 Chase apps in last 12 mos.

Got the 7-10 day message. Approved for the card. 20K CL. I also have the Flex Perks card with 15K CL. I have so many airline miles so I cashed my wife's & I Flex Perk points for $350pp gift cards. (no regrets there). I have to pay for the PPO insurance due to my major medical issues.

I was grounded until recently when the nurse gave me the OK to take commerical air. ^ Of course, I take the insurance due to my having advanced stages of cancer and now with the 2013 PPO responding very well so far to chemotherapy!!

I have used some of my 200K Club Carlson points for booking hotels in upstate NY for early August travel. All travel booked on points with 24 hr cancellation policies. ^ And all book two nights on points with one night free!!!

Bottom line: The Carlson card is working well for me!!! Jury is still out on whether I will move my wife's 200+K points to my account or have her apply for her own CC. I have too many cards in my name to meet min spends right now.

After getting the 7 to 10 days message last night, I got the email I was denied today for the Business card! There is no doubt in my mind it was due to excessive inquiries since this was my first denial in many years! The consensus appears to be that calling Recon line may not do much at all. How about writing a letter? Has anyone gotten approved after they got denied?

Or just forget about USCrank and move on?

Or go for the personal?

I got a pre-approved offer (85k) for the card in the mail today. Will I get a credit pull if I take the offer? If so I want to wait cos I just did an app-o-rama last month. Any advice?

they will still pull your credit (hard inquiry). pre-approval does not mean you are approved.
