Some of us still earn Delta miles with this card or may want information about past or grandfathered terms and conditions.

Please do not spread panic about miles not posting until after the 10th of each month.
In most cases, miles post in the evening on the 5th of each month if it's a business day, or else the evening of the next business day. "Miles post for purchases made between (inclusive) 5th day of prior month to 4th day of current month."

Did someone mention there was language in the new terms that indicated that points would not be earned for tax payments ?

Yes, tax payments are also mentioned in the letter to be excluded from earnings. I'm not sure if it is implemented, since my april tax payments did earn miles.

So the world is finally ending.... hah

I follow this thread and also am a ST Delta card holder but I have not received any change in terms yet. Unless somehow I threw it out but I usually open everything from ST. Should everyone have been notified at this point? I saw The Points Guy blog stating this is going in place July 25th.... Any chance this is only for people who have cards expiring this year? Prob not....

Also, I think the type of account I hold right now called Balanced Banking or something.
Anyone know what it takes to goto Signature Advantage? I will not have 100k+ in deposits.

To avoid a monthly fee, you need $25k.

Thank you so much, I should have just asked my friend google, I appreciate you sharing that. Sure, I could pop 25k there but this whole operation is no longer worth it, screw it.

No. I'm not up for renewal until halfway through 2016.

It's not a signature card. It's a signature checking account. After you login, click account details. It will show the type of account, for example Balanced Banking.

Since this card is in it's final phase out. Does anyone have any helpful tips on how to maximize it for the final few months that they would not mind sharing?

I have been doing the usual, Bluebird, Evolve money, WM Billpay and occasional Money order. Nothing overly aggressive on any of these and only getting about 10-12k a month.

Appreciate any helpful insights are appreciated here or via PM.

    TIA

    That's what I figured - thanks. Non-sig here - "Balanced Banking", sigh... So now I'm looking at $95/yr + $32.64 in MO fees for 24k delta - $0.005318c/mile.

As others have said, there is still some value to be gained, but that totally sucks. If the rate wasn't 1mile/$2, I wouldn't be on the fence about this one - but considering that we're in DFW and have never used any of the Delta miles we've acquired, I'm tempted to just close it when next annual fee comes up. I have barely used the card compared to most of you with only $4-5k/mo ha. We spend a lot of time on other carriers and cashback.

The new terms start July 25th. There's a footnote number 2 next to the "30 day" references, but I don't know what the footnote says. I think the 30 days must correspond with my statement date.

I assume any charge made on July 20th, for example, is not subject to the cap even though miles earned that day won't post until August. Another way to read this is they could apply a cap to any statement that prints after July 25th. For example if your statement prints on July 31st, a cap could apply to charges made between July 2nd and July 31st.

    How are others interpreting this?

I would seriously ramp it up since its dead anyway. Wife and I got shut down quite a few months ago, but we had about 2 years doing 5-6x your monthly amount each before they killed us off.

Wow. That's a pretty low monthly. I'm surprised you got shut down. Did they take any points away or just close you out and let them post.
