Some of us still earn Delta miles with this card or may want information about past or grandfathered terms and conditions.

Please do not spread panic about miles not posting until after the 10th of each month.
In most cases, miles post in the evening on the 5th of each month if it's a business day, or else the evening of the next business day. "Miles post for purchases made between (inclusive) 5th day of prior month to 4th day of current month."

that seemed like an expensive acquisition. you meant 600K?

Nope, I'm talking 60K skypesos and yes it likely was expensive, thus me waving goodbye.

I thought the monthly fee threshold was based on average daily balance.

Getting a couple grand in MO each time you pass by the grocery store is difficult indeed!

Holy wow. I assume that means you are collecting 60-80k points monthly? Is that just legit purchasing or are you MS via MO & Bluebird etc? How long have you been pushing this kind of volume?

No, it's just buying MO and some bluebird. I have 6 BB accounts but usually the kiosk is down and SunTrust is such a PITA with their fraud alerts it makes it so difficult.

I end up usually buying 2k-3k in MO each visit to a grocery store. SunTrust fraud alerts are so slow and constant it can be difficult to repeatedly load BB and such.

I've been doing it for about 3 months or so maybe.

I hear you on the ST fraud alerts. Every month like clockwork I get denied and either wait for the call/text or call the automated fraud line, verify the charges, and get back in line. I'm doing some similar stuff as you, but a much lower scale. 1 BB account and a few MO's here and there.

About 4 months ago, I called in a travel alert bc I was traveling to an area with a WM. No fraud alerts on that trip. Next local load went smoothly and has ever since. Prior to that I got fraud alerts EVERY time I spent anything over $500. Try that.

I used to call the fraud dept every time before I would go buy MO at WM. After a month or two of the pattern of making large purchases on your account you won't have any issues anymore. Just call before you go. You tell them that you're going to make a large purchase and don't want it to get flagged. You'll need to tell them where it will be and the approximate amount. The purchases became a whole lot easier once I didn't have to call in before going and worrying if the red APPROVED would show up on the register terminal.

Anyone combined this with the Delta Amex for extra upgrades and mileage points? Just thought about it, have a SPG Amex but wasn't sure if the Delta Amex may be a better combo.

Yes! Well... I have both the DL Platinum Amex & the DL Reserve Amex (will possibly cancel Platinum this year.) In addition I was lucky enough to get the SunTrust MC earlier this year so that I can earn RDM's at all those horrible places that don't accept Amex. The SunTrust MC doesn't help out with upgrade priority or anything but it does allow me to earn more RDM's which I can use for award tickets, mileage upgrades (as if those ever clear) etc.

EDIT: Adding that if you aren't concerned with getting MQM bonuses from the Delta Amex cards, the SPG Amex is probably better as you can transfer 20k SPG points for 25k skymiles (I believe). So from a true RDM earning perspective, one can earn more skymiles with the SPG Amex however they don't get the MQM bonuses if spending thresholds are met. MQM are the sole reason I have the DL Amex cards (they do provide some other benefits, but it's the MQM that is the biggest to me).

I've have the Delta Skymiles Suntrust card, but I can't figure out where to find a detailed breakdown for what purchases actually gave me miles...

In my Skymiles account on Delta.com, when I go to Manage My Account/View Activity, I only see the total skymiles amount attributed to the card each month. I want to know WHAT EXACTLY gave me those miles. I've called Delta, they said call Suntrust, and they said call Delta... I need an itemized breakdown so I can figure out why I'm spending $2000 a month but only getting about 700 miles, etc.

I've also looked over my suntrust statement. No breakdown there either. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks, Chance
