Sorry but I just double checked now and the rate for PACA (south-east of France) is 441.4, clearly not over 960 as shown in the map.
France is 178.7 and not over 240.

Jesus it's out of control in most of Europe and we aren't even into the cold weather season. Another lockdown is badly needed if we are to avoid countless deaths, the booster rollout will be far too slow.

This virus is going nowhere, just look at NZ & Australia, impossible to shut it out, we have to live with it, vaccines help, that’s all, otherwise it’s economic catastrophe, the cost is already enormous & who is going to pay the ongoing cost ?

Definitely yes in Europe, because cases are decreasing in several large countries and, even if cases are increasing in some they are minor forms in the immense majority of cases thanks to vaccination. We don't care about some people having minor headaches or muscle aches during 2 days. What's important is to avoid saturation of ICU. EU is vaccinating fast and it works.

I'd agree with that. Even in terms of cases (which we're far less worried about due to vaccination rates) it's looking pretty much flat, if not a decline in many places.
