Started Sunday?

I began experiencing problems since Sunday afternoon; I even had to call the 1-800 line to cancel some reservations that were on hold. I thought I just had a disgruntled employee, judging by her tone, but now I see she must have been inundated with calls.

Like most, I lacked about 13K miles to get Plat, and so I made a few reservations until I chose the one that worked best. I suspect many people were in the system doing the same. I finally found a routing to my liking, but then could not apply a credit (Flight Change link), and so I had to call the 1-800 number again and was connected to a woman with a great attitude that helped me out.

Another weird thing I noticed... if I did a fare search via the calendar, it always priced out differently than the regular Continental Reservation search, yet the dates, class, flights, etc. were exact to the dot. Wonder what was going on there? It was lower using the fare calendar, BTW.

Very weird! I just tried to sign in and book reservations, and I was taken to the Japanese site and the flight was priced in Yen. Next time I tried, I was on the French site but in English and the flight priced out in Euros. Maybe Smith Street is going with the unified world government concept?

my solution to recent .com problems

I tried for the past 5 days to look and book HKG-IAH. No can do.

So I turned to United and booked a RT HKG to IAH going thru SFO, and it was 125USD cheaper then CO, It gets me there fsdter, and Will also earn double EQMs, just like on CO thru JUne 15.

I have 97EQM ytd on CO, so I was a happer flyer. Now I get to try UA.

They outsourced IT to EDS? Ah, that explains it. Bad move....and this isn't the first time EDS messed up bigtime. I hope CO wrote a tight SLA with monetary penalties for this kind of outage...I'm sure the lost bookings are well in the 7 figures, and EDS should be on the hook for all of it if the outage can be traced to something they did, or something they didn't do, but were suppose to.

I also had problems over the past day. I called the 800 number with a question, the agent said "yes, we are having a lot of website problems" and she said she would waive the telephone booking fee. Thus, booked the ticket to Central America on the phone. A good result.

The mainframe has been EDS, and has been working all the time. It was the in-house ASP.NET website and its connections/servers
that went bonkers, it appears. I can sign in and see Onepass again, but the Extra Mile Bonus did not post this past weekend as expected.
Good news - Plat card came in the mail in less than 2 weeks' time!

3rd day and still can't book a flight ...

It's rare to have servers down for 3 days at a major corp like CO, isn't it?
