Yea, the OP needs to wait until there's really something to complain about. One more of these, and he/she/it will totally lose credibility on this board.Originally Posted by Jaimito Cartero

That's a cry for help if I ever heard of one. Really, as it's been said, 20 minutes in EWR is nothing. The big thing is, did you get to your destination on time? And it's completely possible the agent wasn't expecting a delay, but something caused it.
Seriously, this is par for the course and if it really bothers you that much, you really should reconsidering flying.

Wow, if that isn't a cry for help.
Seriously though, a 20 minute delay is nothing anywhere in the NYC area. The key metric is did you get to your destination on time? If so, then you really have nothing to complain about.
Any number of factors could be in play. Perhaps when you asked, the gate agent was planning on boarding on time but something prevented that.

...and I can now say, that I have read it all!

Getting wound up about minor delays (less than 2 hours), really doesn't do anyone good. It does make for entertaining reading, though.
Heck, if I got this wound up, I'd have died from a heart attack long ago! I go through more travel problems in a year than Ma and Pa Kettle have in their lifetimes. Go with the flow, man!

I laughed out lound when I read the OP. If I had a dollar for every time an RJ boarded a few minutes late and arrived "relatively" on time, I would be able to charter a G550 every time I traveled. In fact, I would estimate that at least 50% of my COEx regional jet flights do not begin boarding until 10 minutes or less prior to departure, if they are not delayed outright.

I leave for the airport later for CO ex flights because of the usual delayed boarding time. I'd be pissed off if one ever boarded 35 minutes prior to scheduled departure. (Added time of numb-bum, lower back pain, and ghastly close-proximity body-odors.)

If the person at the elite line didn't know that it was delayed until they called EWR ops then there is no reason to think that the GA would have all that much information based of what the systems are showing unless they go out of their way to look for the inbound. If you had asked that question you might have gotten a more sufficient answer, I suppose, but it is EWR.
I don't think the GA lied or did anything all that inappropriate. CO does havwe a habit of not doing so well at cascading the delays through the system in a timely manner so late flights appear on-time for longer than they should be, especially for turns at outstations, but otherwise this is business as usual.

Funny, DL, UA and US all have exactly the same shortcoming. US frequently holds that the outbound will depart at the unchanged, original time, prior to the posted, delayed, arrival time of the inbound equipment. Originally Posted by sbm12

(I suppose the time they spend mastering defeat of the time-space continuum explains why they succeed at so little else.

Anything under 15 minutes is not a delay, per DOT. Don't you have anything better to do with your time than to write letters? In this case, the delay was probably less than 15 minutes
This thread needs to be stickyed as to what not to post.
I propose we also add the following threads (any example will do) to the sticky list.
There was a crying child in BF/F.
My EUA didn't clear or will my upgrade clear.
Will I be able to get a QF reward.
Can we increase the pitch in Y.
I hate CO because I failed to meet the check in requirements.
I was delayed in EWR.
I didn't read the TOC now I am upset.
