perhaps you can work those swimming lessons in still

I just got off the phone with her a few minutes ago and found out that my responsibilities are being increased to include more of a "national presence" ^ It's going to be made official on our conference call this afternoon but essentially, the higher-up's want to take advantage of my skill set and success with a task I was given a few years ago to drive the business.

I'm not sure if you can call this a true "promotion" since my title isn't changing but it's certainly some more responsibility, a show of the confidence they have in me, and a chance to book some flights on equipment other than ERJ's, Q400's, Amtrak, and my car.

Congrats.

I had similar conversation at the end of the year, as well.
Mine was more like; your co-worker has accepted a newish position, we are not replacing him. You'll be covering more of the country but travel is reserved only for select clients, please use whatever electronic means you can, to help cut expenses

I've stayed here and really like the property. Has some amazing history too, showing how the older part of the hotel survived the 1906 earthquake. The location is great - easy acccess to any part of SFO you want. I can definitely recommend this one.

That property has some notoriously small standard rooms, however.

Very nice! Time to start decorating the left-hand side of the FlightMemory. :D

Well, this new role won't include international trips but it should hopefully take my "average flight distance" over the 500 mark.

With my luck, they'll start running transcon Q's

I think that button is in the permanent "on" position when I do searches. I don't know about the rest of you, but my JFK-PTY-MEX run is all on ERJ's :p :p

Thanks! The nature of my job means that I have to be boots-on-the-ground to do what I need to do. Phone calls/teleconferences can only accomplish so much in the surgical device industry.

Good afternoon from the High-C PC at EWR. I had a delicious lunch of Rondele and monterey jack cheese on broken crackers. Now, for your Box History Channel update:

I would concur with the assessment of the LM SFO. It is a wonderful property.

Late in the game, I know, but I'd concur. The LM SFO is the nicest hotel I stay in regularly (unfortunately it was too expensive for the current trip to SFO, so I'm staying elsewhere).

Had confirmed upgrade in place, but still. TV + power = :D

I am on one of those tonight. Is there anything worth watching? I haven't watched live TV in some time, so I never know when anything is on anymore.

You could have given them prunes and Maalox as a birthday present.

Congratulations to ALCO, Steve GadFly, Copa, and anyone else I missed.

.

You can watch other things on LiveTV. There are a few movies available and several TV shows (ie re-runs) that you can view. The last time I watched Live TV I think they had CSI and House available, as re-runs. I found it well worth the money.

adelauro Feb 2, 2010 1:27 pm

Later, Box. I have to hoof it up to the Providence train station to catch the 3:50 Acela. Amtrak two weeks in a row. Yay, me.

That stuff runs on a loop, though, right? I seem to remember that the last time I had a Live TV-enabled flight.

In theory, I'm supposed to be working, anyway.
