Big appointment, tomorrow afternoon that doesn't look as if it can be changed(major reason for trip out) but believe we can finish up and make it to airport for a 5:15pm US flight with seats showing as available.

Does US offer same day(24 hr period) stand-by at no charge?

I don't know (and don't want to know) about US. Depending upon load factors, you might be able to get a good person trained by SkyTeam USA's mainline subsidiary who's trained in G ATO BUMP / GO ATO BUMP.

Is it possible to mix reward classes on a single trip, i.e., one way business, one way coach?

Yes but you would have to call SkyTeam USA. Phone ticketing charge is waived for Gold and Plat.

You can add in your text address as an email. For example if you have a Verizon phone add the email as [email protected]

Verizon @vtext.com
AT&T @txt.att.net

I did that....the issue was confirming the address since the confirmation e-mail they send to the phone via SMS is too long to be able to click on the URL to confirm.

Who is going to be the ITA trainer?

I'm a strong maybe.....depends what time I have to be at a get-together in Manhattan.

Not a bad idea....I don't use yahoo mail but I think Comcast mail has a similar feature.....I'll check it out.

Drive to Altoona, PA wound up taking 6 h:rolleyes:urs. I've flown this route quite a few times and once the company pays me $0.55 a mile plus tolls, the flights would have been the same price.

I just don't get it sometimes.

No offer was made in the end. I'm not surprised by that. And I expect that today will be very brief as they make a move that will delay the actual deal by 6 months or so.

It apparently left *wood on January 1st
. The hotel is being renovated and may or may not be a Sheraton when it reopens later this year.

Perhaps they wanted you to see the sights on I-80.

I see that the M fares for the outbound flight have available "Platinum Elite Upgrade Fare" links next to them. Can I buy up from W to M? I know that I can buy up on the reservation page, but that is a buy up to D. Can this be done? I'm a bit confused. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Yes, you can. You'll need to make sure that the ZE inventory is there - probably best to do by calling - but if they are you should be permitted to M-Up with no change fee, just the fare difference.

Mom & Dad GadFly flew US PHX-FLL yesterday on flight 183. Right after takeoff, their plane got struck by lightning, turned around and landed back at PHX (not sure if they brought out the trucks). Back to the gate and had to wait a while for a new plane and wound up getting to FLL almost 3 hours late.

Dad-Gad said the lightning strike sounded "like a car wreck" and startled the heck out of everyone on the plane.

Off to w:rolleyes:rk....later Box!

Glad they landed safe. During CO Do IV I was on the maintenance tour with Hartmann and sdm1130 (and a few others) and they had a 738 in the hangar that had been struck by lightning; you could see where it marred the paint as it moved along the fuselage and finally discharged. Really cool stuff.

Anywho, good morning, Box. We did not stay in the house last night; the first night will be this weekend after we move our stuff on Saturday. But my wife and my mother are heading over today to clean stuff that needs to be cleaned, which is nice of them.
