Norton doesn't want to die quietly. The uninstall process hung and I had to restart it. Too bad when I restarted it that it didn't let me go into the screen that lets you tell Symantec why you're getting rid of it. I skipped that screen the first time around and I regret such.

If you haven't already, try using the Norton Removal Tool. It's better then using the uninstall feature and removes all the crap that Norton will leave behind.

I only mention it because such happened to me the other day, about 9pm driving along and all of a sudden every street light goes out.

We get about .5 a mile down and police rush past, another .5 mile and they are blocking the road and making people exit.

Then we see the  a truck driver has jackknifed in the road, partially flipped (making the trailer partially on side, and taller, think 'two wheel driving) and taken out a pole and transformer and a lot of power lines (and probably tele too)

I have no idea how he got himself in that predicament!

If you want to see nothing, RUH is the place to be. Talk about expansive desert. When I was deployed in that neighborhood, the base I was on had one of those red and white candy-stripe water towers that flared at the top. We called it the Devil's Doorknob.

my fingers are so cold my touchpad doesn't detect me touching.

with it going to be below freezing for 3 days with no highs above 25, I think it is high time I pull my winter box down and get my jacket out...

Unfortunately no - the bottles and package went out to recycling this morning. I am just saying, it takes a lot for me to pitch beer...

I suspect it's rather similar to Walvis Bay. The airport is just a strip of concrete in the middle of thousands of square miles of... beige nothingness. Pretty surreal. Should have some photos up soon.

My favorite landing strips have been KOA landing on the black moon and PLJ landing on the red dirt (now paved with lights).
