How did the first interview go?

Interview 1 went very well, so I celebrated with Chipotle.

Interview 2 was fine, but they wouldn't talk salary and I heard something about an hourly rate paid weekly. I tried to press further, they acted  and changed the subject.

Interview 3 was very exciting. It's a great company and I love their BlackBerry app. The interview process consisted of a one hour interview with three different managers. The Chip:(tle kicked in after part deuce of the process.

All three are startups with positions for Project Management/Professional Services. Each had a different feel and I hope to get a callback from at least one. :D

Ah cool, so you must live in a smaller region as well

15 miles north of NYC. NYS is quirky in its first-response services. The majority of the state is covered by volunteer fire and EMS (which are usually separate entities here).

It's impossible to run a profitable 9-1-1 response service and maintain compliance with NYS DOH requirements and standards (on-scene in a few hours doesn't cut it) based on insurance reimbursement rates. The only way to do it is through at least a partial volunteer entity, or have some sort of transport service to supplement the 9-1-1 side of the business.

Our billings are about $400k/year and our expenses are about $350,000. The largest expense, by far, is a pension for the volunteers.

The whole system is a complete mess. It's grown out of historical precedent and no one has the wear-with-all to change it.

"What-what the hell is a gigawatt?"

I love the smell of rubber in the morning.

That looks like the 4th of July bonfire I had in my back yard when I was a teenager!:D

I have a friend that is a trainer for nuclear safety with whatever txu is named now, it is an interesting job, he finds himself all around the country these days. Back when I lived near him he was always in the same place, kids got into high school and college and he started the traveling gig. It is a nice way to go.

The only power source capable of generating 1.21 gigawatts of electricity is a bolt of lightning.
