If it's terrible, it's a nice spring-board to match with Marriott or Hilton.

I have never gotten the impression that Marriott matches are worth it -- I will need to revisit that... @:-)

Unfortunately AC "is not possible". Guess I'll just hang out in the terminal - need to check if SJC is one of those "free innernet" google airports.

Per OH's signature, yes. ^

By the time I stopped traveling for a living I was unimpressed with Hilton and Marriott.

You confirm my feelings. :-:

Conan is good tonight. In addition to haveing William Shattner reading from Sarah Palin's book, he had Sarah Palin reading from William Shattner's autobiography.

A lot will probably change with me professionally in 2011. I'll have to judge my travel going forward once I figure out what's going on with my work.

If I end up with the DC gig then I might match over to Hyatt as that would be, by far, the most convenient brand for me.

Hilton and Marriott programs are , but they are everywhere.

In planning for my flight to DC tomorrow I decided to go with a heavier jacket.

PriorityClub and Choice hotels are even more ubiquitous in half the places I get sent. It's too much to ask for a Hampton Inn.

I have a longer stay at a Marriott in MC:rolleyes: in January, but I don't want to waste the status match on a single stay when I will spend most of the business trip in the bar... Agree on the fact that they are everywhere, though...

I have the winter coat (choices in my home are "summer coat" or "winter coat") in the trunk of my car for the trip to PHL / drive to EWR tomorrow.

I was going to go with layers and a soft shell which usually will work but I'm chickening out so will go with the winter jacket.

This sounds pretty similar to my experiences in two years as an SPG Plat. The only times I am ever upgraded or get lounge access is when I am alone and arrive at a hotel at 10 pm and need to be out by 6:15 the next morning. When I am with my wife, no soup for me. The extra 500 points are nice, and I've been treated well, though.

Wise move. It's currently 27 degrees here in central Jersey.

It has been cold and windy here. Looking at the forecast for the next couple of days, highs are in the high 30s and low 40s. NJ will probably be a couple of degrees colder than here.

ETA trumped by Olton Hall's more relevant forecast above.
