Something pretty lame: UA new C (763) IAD-FRA, then LH C FRA-LHR. At least I'll get to try the new UA C seats. I need to work a full day on Wednesday because I decided to extend my trip for a day, so I am basically limited to flying out of IAD. I would have gone on IAD-LHR directly, but UA is only running 777s that day. The LH IAD-FRA flight didn't have any C availability at the time I booked it, but leaves a bit too early anyway.

What time do you get to FRA, I may still be there when you arrive.

belynch, I would strongly suggest looking at LX availability via ExpertFlyer (or Aerocanuck.com). From what I've read, their C and F products outclass LH in every aspect (except FCT).

LX F at ZRH still offers private checkin, including a valet parking service for those who drive themselves to the airport, a lounge that is comparable to the FCT, and limo service to the aircraft (although, from what I can gather, then often just take people in a van and dump them into the terminal if the flight departs from Terminal E). The ZRH Business Lounge apparently has a Senator component, as well, which I will sample next week.

Yes -- just make sure it's not "peak business" and you should be fine.

Now, I wonder if CO will let me route JNB-DXB-Europe(stopover)-US. Seems like a long shot...

I'm not sure it matters as this stuff is pretty much a commodity item. I've been warned, though, that leaving drives in these docks for a while causes them to get quite hot.

Thanks!

LX is high on my list of airlines to fly that I've not yet sampled, along with SQ, NH and SK (which I'll get to sample in January).

Yes. Earlier this year, I had CPT-DXB-ZRH-AMS//-IAD booked at the standard J rate.

55 minutes later, I have been told that the missing miles and segments will be in my account NLT 12/9.

Still waiting for Saturday's flights to post.

That seems like an awfully long time. Do they have to confirm you didn't get miles with LH or something?

I wouldn't classify the new UA C seat as lame, especially for an overnight flight, where flatness is key. :-:

I agree, and look forward to trying the seat. I was thinking more of the lameness of flying UA and intra-EU LH on a totally uncreative routing, but I will still be getting two new FM lines out of it.

Excellent! This could work out nicely since JNB-ZRH availability on LX seems impossible to find.

IME, Continental agents are great at picking random resolution dates for problems they are unable to fix. Hopefully you'll actually see miles before 12/9. :)

Checked my wife in for her AUS - PHX leg on USAirw:rolleyes:ys. Even during OLCI, they will not release exit seats and require a fee to select Y seats at the front of the cabin.

They didn't give me all the details of why I was holding. All the agent said was that there was a spelling error, a rejected request for miles on at least one of the missing three, and that a supervisor was involved in getting the request for missing miles re-filed because of the name error. Of that 55 minutes, I was on hold for probably 45 of them.

I may have to try and catch a US flight one day then, they did not get rid of all the eJets did they, just the e90s?
