Yes, I believe so; I plugged it back in; pushed the button to silence it which of course set off all kinds of alarms (I was awaiting the call from ADT asking if I had a real emergency); and then I realized additional beeping coming from the smoke detector in our bedroom. The problem with that - 14 ft ceilings (maybe 16, don't know; don't care - way too freaking tall for me to do anything). One Naked Vodka later (that's Naked mango tango and vodka), 2 earplugs and my bose if I have to; I hope I can get some sleep.

Plus1 is ignoring my texts, and perhaps I would be too. Not sure how I'm going to get somebody here before I leave in the morning; so this may be my deciding point on going or not. Should I call the elite line and say "sorry, not going because my  detector won't stop beeping"?

Thank you, kind folks, for your help in solving my issues; at least one stopped beeping. This is not my thing and falls under Plus1's duties (okay, we don't really have a list; but in general he changes the filters and batteries; so this is HIS!).

I'm taking deep breaths and trying not to freak out over the small stuff, which is what I do best. Give me an emergency, and I'm your girl!

To add to my day, I believe I left a bracelet in the safe at the Aloft. I retrieved everything else, but it is thin and I think I just missed it; also it's not a bracelet I typically take off. I know it's insured, but not wanting to tell Plus1 I lost it in case he thinks that trumps him not changing batteries ;)

I've called Aloft and they are going to look for it; but to be honest, if housekeeping found it, do you really think they've turned it in? I'm hoping for an honest staff member, but . . . it was my fault for leaving it there.

Ok my plat story. I am supposed to go to atl tomorrow. I don't really need to go, because the people that needede to go rescheduled the meeting for the start of the year and are paying to reschedule the trip.

To add into this my ex suddenly wants to "hang out" when I am back in Atlanta. Now this could be ^ or  there really is no predicting.

The total cost for going to atl would be the price of a hotwire hotel, meals, and loitering with my ex.

The benefits would be plat for the new year and loitering with my ex.

Enjoy.

If you only knew the hoops we had to jump through to get the agents to change our routing to get ship 13

Food Lion has wireless, I did not know that

Thanks AMF -- What I'm really interested in what's the day-to-day pace of each hotel, what off hotel activities are there to do (if any) and how well does each recognize status.

I'm not sure how they recognize status. When I was there I had none, and it was SPG not Hilton.

We had a TA set up some off hotel activities and set some up with their activities desk/concierge, but I'm fairly certain all could be set up via the hotel. The activites we had were a 4x4 tour of the island ^, swimming with manta rays and sharks ^, a helicopter tour ^, jetski around the island ^, dinner at Bloody Marys ^:td:, and dinner at La Villa Mahana ^^.

The day to day pace is island time. To be honest we had some issues that would have been a serious drag on our honeymoon but the GM comped us ~$1,500 in activitiy fees for the issues that we had. Yea, the activities can be pricy.

This is very true. The international stuff is not sent to India. I guess they are afraid of someone actually routing a ORD-SFO flight through NRT. :D

Btw, I completely spaced, but happy bday!

Is that the building where Castle Rock is? I work in that building when I am in LA, but I have never seen anyone remotely famous except on the plane home.

At least the weather was unseasonably good. I hope you had decent seats.

Given the opportunity to see lousy football and lousy baseball, I'd choose baseball every time, though I stopped being someone who cares much about pro football in 1995.

I am someone who (a) has never been plat and (b) has been married for 15 years, but why not go? Doesn't look like it will cost you much money, plat can't be bad, and if the weekend goes  at least you will have a story to tell.
