The DC is there to help "balance the colors" of the photo -- just like the fruit.

That creme cheese & jam turnover was tasty. Might have to have another two. Or thirty.

Good morning Box. I see FT is behaving for the moment.

Don't forget seat back thickness effects the actual room available. (31 inch pitch with a 30 inch thick seat back would leave you only 1 inch of room)

Has anyone here opened a Chase checking account to get the 25k OnePass miles? Do you know if Chase did a hard pull of your credit when opening the account? I'm seeing conflicting reports...

I have, and they did. I was offered a(nother) Chase credit card at the time I opened the account.

Also, I thought script kiddies grew up and stopped DDoSing stuff. Oh well, glad we're back up and running. ^

Yes, I opened one. No, I have no idea if they did a hard pull. I don't pay that much attention to my credit unless my mortgage company falsely reports that I've declared bankruptcy.

That's . I'm not sure I want the ding (albeit a small one) just for the miles. Wow - did I really just say that?

I have very good credit, but I am still mildly obsessed with checking my credit score. I had some issues with identity theft several years ago, so I guess that makes me a little paranoid. Also, if I find a new job in an area that requires us to move, we will likely purchase a home so I'd like to keep my score as high as possible to secure the best interest rates.

Complaining about false reports of declaring bankruptcy is probably a good idea. :D

IMO Chase has no business doing a hard pull for opening a CHECKING account. That is totally irresponsible, hopefully they do not.

I agree - Chex Systems or a soft pull should be used to confirm your identity (thank you Patriot Act ). Unfortunately, there are several banks out there that will do hard pulls.

So I got my Blackberry last night but Sprint still hasn't completed the port. My old phone still works so I'm on the line with Sprint now.

Mackieman Nov 14, 2009 8:30 am

Sprint phone prompts said it would be at least nine minutes before I spoke to a rep.

The rep picked up immediately. I forgot how much I dislike wireless company support.

+1. It is especially irksome when the brain trust at the various FICO Scoring agencies then ding you for too many inquires. Yeah, that's a big bag of

Phone line porting has been in the crapper the last months, I have heard of 5 failures from 5 attempts in the last month, from multiple companies, verizon -> att, embarq->sprint, sprint->attt etc....

Mackieman Nov 14, 2009 8:33 am

Awesome™. First rep takes five minutes, figures out he can't do anything, and has to transfer me to the number porting department.

He has apparently transferred me to sales and she now has to find the number for the porting department.

Yeah, I was afraid of this. I was hoping it would be somewhat simpler since I'm going from VMU (a Sprint MNVO) to Sprint. The jury is still out I suppose.
