Houston people, what's the weather forecast supposed to be like around 11:00 PM CDT tonight when I'm landing there? Hoping all this nasty weather is long gone by then.

There are supposed to be storms off and on until tomorrow, but I think it's a safe bet that most of the heavy stuff is completely gone.

I would be happy to. The flight was going to be cancelled until the supervisor informed SOCC that there wasn't any other flights available to move the passengers to, so they agreed to do the swap.

I figured that might be the case given the time of day. Hopefully this route finally gets the year round 2x daily with all of the *A connections at SFO.

Is the seasonal flight a redeye?

While they aren't as bad as GS and 1K elites, Chairman's Preferred elites definitely like to make their presence known. US isn't quite as bad as it's reputation would indicate (don't get me wrong, they're not great), but if I willingly flew 100k+ miles on US each year, I definitely would not want other people to know.

At this point, anyone who is still a CP on US has either drunk the LCC Kool Aid or is a true hub captive. Below CP, I'd say their program is probably the worst there is (mitigated by easy access to *A awards).

Parker has been quoted to the effect that they are uninterested in catering to CPs. Certainly their actions, until recently, show that they don't care very much for their frequent flyers.

I haven't complimented you yet today on your FlightMemory. It looks lovely. Other Boxers ought to give it a try. :-:

Some of us have. It's addictive. It took me a couple of hours over the weekend, working backwards, and with the exception of yesterday's flight I'm back to June 2007. It surprises me to learn how often I've flown PHL-DFW

Usually yes, though I have seen late afternoon as well.

I've been immortalized on Google Earth. Walking home from Starbucks one Sunday morning the Google van passed through my neighborhood and caught me walking towards my house.

One of my former neighbors in Atlanta is mowing the lawn across the street from our building on Google Maps Street View. And if you look up my parent's address, you'll see my mother backing her car out of the driveway and following the Google van down the street to the corner.

Mine is likely in my box at home, but I am not there to get it, Pclub card is likely there too.

Mine hadn't arrived yet today before I had to leave. I'll have to wait until I get home Friday night.

No kidding. And we just went through the hassle of selling one of the cars. We may be about to get into that again. But it's probably much easier to deal with if we've got a current registration and title in Georgia.

Considering how full the red-eye flight to CLE was during the summer, we really thought that it would remain in the winter schedule. We must be using the equipment on some other "important" route but it always returns during the holidays.

It's one of my more favorite flights to work. CLE people are easy to work with.

I know. Us IAH'ers are always  or eating or both. :D

And in other news I just got a call back from an accounting firm -- looks like the pre interview* went well enough for an office visit.

*for that I had three friends (PLUS their parents!) tell me not to breathe a word about points or dollar coins. Said I could do that *after* an offer.

Did anyone else fly out of Houston this morning? (didn't read the previous pages - maybe I missed some postings). I was on CO1622 to PDX. We ended up taking off about 45 minutes late. Not too bad considering, I think. The captain made an announcement before pushback that we might be delayed, which allowed passengers to use the bathroom or whatever. Since this was a 900ER, the DirecTV was working the whole time. Also, because of all the storms, some people missed their connection. I counted 3 battlefield upgrades, which freed up some middle seats. I was in D and the guy in E moved to be near his SO, so I had no middle. :D On the balance, I guess I've had much worse flights. :D :D

How I would love to have a desk that looked like that...preferably in a large hotel with a very high average daily rate. :D

BTW, do you know how you're getting to ORD yet?

Wait, hold on. I'm only supposed to be aware of porn one week a year? I missed that memo.

IMHO, this is all that needs to be said on the topic. The ground crew of course deserves props, but it's not like that plane was a diapered baby convention. If I ran the planet, the pax with diapered kids would have been pulled off the plane and asked politely whodunit.

The aircraft that they ended up on had (guessing) already been put to bed for the night?

No, just at least once a year. :)
