I'm liking this even more! March is peak-season for Black and Blue Marlin at Exmouth, which is one of the best spots on Earth to fish for them. :D :D :D

I'd like to catch one that dwarfs this guy...

I usually do Tag & Release, but in Mexico, they actually eat the darned things. I had always heard Marlin weren't very good eating until I tried spicy smoked Marlin in Mazatlan. ^

Why not come in early if you can get out of your meetings? Come to the deep dish mini-Do referenced in the CBuzz thread, and stay free in the suite. Do Westin suite couches pull out??

Teh meetings got changed to next week, so I should be free to go monday afternoon.

There will be an envelope taped to the underside of a pay phone booth - look for the small piece of crushed chalk on the floor. (For those who don't read espionage nonfiction, that's a very common piece of tradecraft.)

I usually mark a mailbox with chalk to signal the drop is on.

^. Mine runs from 03/13-03/21. I'm scheduled to arrive in PER on Monday, March 15 at around 04:30pm. Decided to splash out for what is (hopefully) my last ever spring break.

PER has both HHonors and SPG. The only game in Exmouth appears to be Accor, but the Novotel is ^^^, and it should be pretty easy to trade in CC for $60 Accor Vouchers these days.

I think step 8 of the recovery program involves actually returning to the Southern Hemisphere after the first go-round. We wouldn't want him to have a relapse. It's so good of y'all to be such caring sponsors. :D

The issue would be getting there. I am going to wait and see what CO offers as far as redemption to PER.

Indeed. To be outdone someday, perhaps, only by a Box Tour of teh wine-fields of Stellenbosch (we'll need a car service), and a Penguin-chasing DO in Antarctica. :-:

I suspect you'll be able to do anything via the Pacific. :-: Carriers operating to PER are:

TG BKK-PER
SQ SIN-PER
NZ AKL-PER
SA JNB-PER (likely not a valid routing)

EK also operates there. Not sure if you could redeem IAH-DXB-PER. :-:

There are also the overpriced QF Awards.

I'm not a fan of fishing, but this is the only kind of fishing trip I would do...one where catching something and then selling it dockside would subsidize the trip and create profit. Mexico and Alaska both come to mind for that kind of thing.
