The only time I had difficulty getting to the elevators was during NBA All-Star Weekend. It seemed most players' entourages were staying at teh W. The scene inside the hotel was absolutely ridiculous. It may be packed during New Year's as well, but I couldn't say, as I haven't stayed there during New Year's.

I'm guessing it will be pretty busy. Thanks for the info!

The Westin doesn't seem to have any suites left but they do have some deluxe rooms with river views.

The W still has suites available.

Take the Suite at the W. She will enjoy it far more than a deluxe river view at the Westin. Both hotels have borderline incompetent front-desk staff, so there's no edge there. I doubt you will have elevator issues during most of your stay. Usually all the action is at Whiskey Blue, far from the elevators. Rarely does the bar near the lobby spill over to actually block elevator access.

Ideally without getting people shot or otherwise injured.

Well, that was interesting. Phone interview lasted ten minutes, with an explanation that they believe four hour long interviews and panel interviews with 20 people are silly, and that they want to bring me on site for a 45 minute interview on Friday. Whatever works. :D

I must be a magnet for people who like to choose the middle seat...

I'm in 22C and all four middle seats in the middle set of exit rows have been empty until just now, when someone decided they wanted to sit next to me.

The windows and aisles were all taken so I guess they thought I'd be the best person to hit up for a conversation.

What's funny is that there are aisle and window seats open all over the place. Maybe I'll enquire as to what it feels like to be an idiot.

Getting the on-site is what matters.

There are a few granite yards in Paterson that I am going to check out. I honestly have no idea how expensive granite it, but if it is out of my price range I will go with a standard formica counter for now or go with a tiled counter.

We're getting our kitchen done piecemeal and from what I gather the price in granite has come down a lot. It's not nearly the opulent expense it used to be and can be comparable to stuff like Corian. The manufactured stones like Silestone are more expensive. I'm biased against formica or tile counters, though.

I don't think that marble makes a good kitchen counter top. It is a soft rock (~3 on the Mohs scale), and I think that it stains easy. :-:

All that powerpointing for nothing?:rolleyes::rolleyes: But a ^ to the onsite.

I decided to break a rule and make breakfast to guarantee the arrival of UPS driver before going to the office. Eggs are a little overcooked.

No, that is for a different gig. Still have to complete that presentation for tomorrow.

Women apparently are outside Amp's demographic (target or not).

I think I should start a thread about how the EUA is broken.
I am on 1792 tomorrow and no 3-day or 2-day upgrade :(. 10 available seats in F. I do however have the "Upgrade Reservation Using Miles" link in my account.

Yep. The Sheraton Baton Rouge once did it three times for a stay. :D

Unfortunately the next stay they didn't do it at all.

Their staff gets it right about 50% of the time.
