In, this can't be good news, there's an Oktoberfest happening right behind my house. Seriously. 4 acres of Leiderhosen and beer.

Octoberfest here requires me to drive. Or use my free "mass transit" pass and wait an hour for the one bus.

Yum. Are pralines like brittle? I love See's Candy peanut brittle.

Not really. They have a much softer, creamier texture that melts in your mouth. They're quite common in Louisiana and Texas. My father has an amazing recipe for bourbon pecan pralines that are a holiday tradition in my family. Not quite all the alochol cooks out of them, and I think the first few alcohol-induced buzzes I ever experienced were a result of that delicious candy.

My mom makes rum cake - I don't think any of the alcohol cooks out ...

LBJ was known to take meetings while pooping (as in staffers presenting to him via an open bathroom door) and also had a reputation for showing his hoohoo and resting it on a table if in his mind the situation required it.

I'm pretty sure I didn't need this mental image invading my brain first thing on a Sunday morning. :p Fortunately I've already finished my Starbucks. :)

^ I like the Tortuga rum cakes.

I'm done with my garden cleanup for the weekend. I've reached my limit of bags of what the garbagemen will pick up. Of course, they seem to take curbs full of construction debris just fine.

Banner crop year for the gourds and mini-pumpkins. Much better than dealing with the t:rolleyes:mat:eek: blight disaster.

We had so much rain that tomatoes either stayed green or were watery.

sfogate - you have the SFO staff trained well. Just did a turn in SFO at noon today. The inbound from IAH (378)was 45 minutes late. Arrived at the gate at 11:54. The return flight (1716) was leaving at 12:06. By the time I got off the plane and looked over at gate 34 - the agent waved and guessed who I was. She was holding my F seat.

Turn out someone else was doing the same thing - and they waited for him. Turns out he was seated next to me in 2F. I do not see IAH being as accommodating as the great SFO staff.

Tell them - we love them - they are the best at SFO.

Randy, why are you doing runs w/ lifetime Plat already secured?

I need some e-rewards surveys soon (for the IC hotels promotion).

I just got one, about business decisions, "$10" one

icurhere2 Oct 4, 2009 11:20 am

If I get one survey for $6, I'll be able to transfer for 1,000 PC points and a 4,000 PC point bonus. Sadly, I redeemed for a lot of HHonors points recently so I have to hope for a survey (or figure out one more qualifying activity).

they are coming really slow, this is the first e-rewards i have gotten other than a 'quick .50' one they do to keep you active, in about 3 months.

I had a great summer with them but now that I want surveys ...

I concur.

Greetings from the Courtyard in not so sunny Valencia, CA. Thought I'd pop in after printing my boarding pass while the oldest plays "Maple Story." Not sure exactly what it is, but is sounds Canuck.
