The only internation Hilton property I ever stayed in was in POP and I was diamond then. I'll admit, the treatment was fantastic. But take a look at my FM stats.....I almost never go intl and I was tired of being one of 45 diamonds staying at a property any given night (upgrade "is not possible"). At my current stay rate, I'm only a couple years from lifetime patinum with Marriott....I think I'll stick with them for now.

Good afternoon. Just stopping in while a task is in progress; I notice that the CO/UA merger thread has surfaced again. That merger's logic and raison d'etre reminds me of an old story, which all may have heard, but it's solid business logic those in the Box will be able to appreciate.

There was a cat-skin farmer who wanted to control feed costs, and down the road a rat farmer who had two problems: feed costs, and no market for his rats.

So they decided to merge; that way the cats could eat the rats and the rats could eat the cats and they got the skins.

But they still had the production problem of how to skin the cats, until they merged with a snake farmer, who cross bred the cats with the snakes, so they skinned themselves twice a year.

And then they finally had a profitable business.

Now back to regularly scheduled PWP.
