If anyone's going to be in P-3 today, there's a nice little bit of AeorPorn out the windows. Looks like a big-a$$ cargo plane (C-130???) but painted in civilian colors (can't read the name on the tail but it could be Russian since it ends with a "V"). It's parked out near the cargo hangars near the Kalita 747's. Someone with a good zoom lens may be able to get a good pic of it.

Time to head to my CLE flight. Later Box.

C-130 and Russian don't mix - probably something Antonov.

Well, like I said, I couldn't really read the name on the tail...just saw that it ended with a "V". That being said, those at the DC DO know that I'm not the best plane identifier around (ie. the mistaken UA 767 landing at DCA )

Time to shut the phone off.....later Box.

Ehh. No big thing. There's a pretty regular Russian transport that comes into/out of FLL - that's always fun to spot on the apron.

C130 has props, AN124 has jets, and is huge :D

C130 is pretty small if up next to another passenger jet, even a 737.

This was the final upgrade from 2003 to 2007. It is such a better platform now.

Yes -- but it's still Wind:rolleyes:ze.

Scott6067 and I saw a DL 767-300 at the gate in DCA when we left on Sunday (right around the time you had seen one landing the previous day). :-:

I had never seen this comparison written, so I went and looked it up. Every 737 since the -400 is longer than a C-130. I would have lost money on that bet.

Dear CO.com,

When showing a schedule change, please show the original time and the changed time. I think I have asked for this before, yet you still try to just get me to accept changes willie-nillie.

Sincerely,

Uncle Bill keeps me in business. I have no complaints at all. :p

I knew because I have been inside 3 C130's, the new J model may be longer, it is substantially longer than any other, and uses less fuel.

But I just used it for quick comparison sake, since most of us here fly passenger jets :)

Seeing a J model, and previous MODELS before it side by side, it's quite a difference.
Even the pilots were asking what everything does on the new one, it has a nice HUD and everything.

I think I saw it yesterday when driving back from teh beach.
I also saw a DL plane abort a landing on saturday when I was on my way down the shore.
