Either a non-crap import beer or a good wine that you will drink since you brought it.

Those don't count as food items. :rolleyes: :p

How about just keeping it simple and going with some gourmet cheeses?

SCL itself is actually kinda boring. It is set in beautiful surroundings, but there just isn't as much to do in the city as in Buenos Aires. A surprising number of businesses and eateries were closed on Saturday (as well as Sunday, less surprisingly).

There's tons of stuff to do in the surrounding area (wineries, skiing, lake district, coast about an hour away), but the city itself is, though fairly clean and quite modern, pretty bland. It's like a South American version of Calgary.

Did you rent a car in SCL or is it pretty easy to get around (outside the city) using other methods of transportation?

Looks like I'll get around to uploading the KQ pics tonight...

We'll have to pretend the run in was completely unknown to both of us or else I risk receiving much :rolleyes: from the wife.

He was looking for a food item?

Wine = cheese.
Beer = hot dogs or nachos.

Problem solved. :D

I know they will have gourmet cheese (look forward to another slice of top notch Parm) so I need something in the non-cheese and it's complementary cracker.

I will try to wear a disguise, maybe a cape so you won't recognize me. I would not want to disturb you on your honeymoon. Think of the :rolleyes: you will get.

The odds of that cover story holding up are :rolleyes: to 1. Bumping into someone you know at Disney World is nearly a given...bumping into someone you know on the other side of the planet, not so much.

I couldn't pull that off in the same town.

No. I primarily used the Metro (which is excellent, but does not run all the way to the Airport), and splurged for a car and driver to do the winery tour (I overslept and missed the cheaper option of a tour company's bus to the winery). There is a cheap ($4) bus that connects you from the airport to Pajaritos Metro Station (about a 7 minute bus ride). The Metro costs about $1, regardless of how far you ride, and is nicer than most subway systems I have ridden.

Rental rates were ridiculous for this weekend. However, if the price was right, I wouldn't hesitate to rent a car there. The highways are extremely modern and well-maintained, and the drivers seemed courteous and well-behaved. Most of the highways do involve tolls that vary based upon congestion and time of day. At off-peak times, tolls appeared to be about 10 cents per kilometer.
