I needed a brakejob badly, had to get all new tires, replace a gasket on the engine. Really normal maintenance stuff I guess. Just  about the timing of it all. oh and the new springs and shocks, that was a big part of the costs there.

SPRINGS-really with only 75K??? Even seems a bit short for shocks, too
Whatca' hauling around? a trunkful of :rolleyes:

I had two of the weirdest issues with my car: the Anti Lock Braking System and the Air Bag Sensor both went out at different time. Major money to repair these things. My car is a 95 Honda Accord with only 130,000 miles so I expect some big repairs but not those. I still haven't had to replace my muffers but the car is starting to sound like a hot rod. :D

I've had one major repair bill on my Skivic, and it was about $1400, after over 100k of flawless driving. The other time I had to pay to have work done was probably the goofiest request for repair that a local shop has seen in a while: I failed NJ inspection for a wobbly seat. Their argument was that the wobble rendered the seat unsafe in case of an accident...I do kinda get the logic, but I think the unhappiest party in the entire transaction was my wallet. The fact that it cost me over $100 to have a bolt tightened was a wee bit  to say the least.

Ok, cool and thank you for your kind words.

On a different note, is anyone being tempted by the $600 EWR-GRU/GIG fare? It's good for a weekend and i'm really toying with the idea to address my hemispheritis and pad the MM balance. Basically, if you route it via IAH, you approach 24k EQMs.

I'd prefer EZE over GRU .
If there was a cheap
fare to EZE I might be able
to talk my wife into it.
I hear EZE is the Paris of
South America.

and If you'd just known where the bolt was.....the wrench/socket set would have cost less:D

Sadly true nowadays. Honda has been great to me, but once I run this car into the ground I think the new Maxima is where I'm looking first. My fiancee has an Altima and loves it.

I can't complain, I like my car, been very reliable.

I have some better than original parts on it now and good to go for a long time.
I have driven it everywhere from the Mojave Desert to near the top of Mount Washington (and Berlin, NH) down to the upper keys of FL.
Blowout in the desert, to a minor hood bender with a parked car(melting ice sheet is slick man!) in NH :D

Your son has "riced" out your car. He's preparing to take it over. ;)

I see the EWR-GIG fare for just about every weekend left in the DEQM window. And I'd like to keep to my every other weekend bit, so I've got some options in June to fill in. Of course, the Visa fee doesn't help the situation. Tough call.
