I hear you. I lived in BNE for a year and would give just about anything to go back. It. Was. Perfect.

I want to go to Oz very badly. Have any Boxers been to Broome in NW Australia? That whole stretch of coast up there looks amazing.

I shall inform the Significant Otter that she should buy a lottery ticket. She got a Silver upgrade on IAH-PHL. Since when did CO start upgrading Silvers?

You must be traveling on a Saturday or Sunday morning...

Wow! Even more surprising...

I should have you weren't traveling on Sunday. A Silver would not yet be eligible for an upgrade. me.

Not I. Had intentions to make it out to Perth but was having too much fun on the East coast.

I'd love to find a place that is about 40F year around, and has a month-month and a half or so of nice -10 to 0F weather with a good snow.

That place isn't in the NE US :D I'd use Texas as a retreat to unpredictable weather with freezing one day(32F) and 80F the next(happened twice this year already)

Why are you on US air again?

I love Edinburgh. It is the Anti-Houston. Eight months of winter suited me just fine.

I love Edinburgh, too, but have only been there once. In August. :) (for Festival-related stuff, which was a lot of fun) I've been wanting to return for years though - it is definitely on the list for next year's projected UK adventure, which will also be happening in the summer . . .

I'm slightly-less-than-half-Scottish, but that's definitely the part of my dad's heritage with which he most strongly identifies. He'd wanted to go there his whole life, so it was fun to do that aforementioned Edinburgh trip together - somehow I really don't see my mom getting excited about castles, haggis, and marching pipes and drums, but we had a blast.

Tromso, Norway. Can warm up into the 60 or 70s during high summer (when the sun is constantly in the sky, as it's north of the Arctic Circle), and the winter temps don't get as low as the latitude would suggest, due to the Gulf Stream.

Also, it's a stunning place.

Because CO and everyone else wanted $800/ticket for STT.

ETA - Post 13,000

We would flee the tourist hordes during August, whilst sub-letting the flat at outrageous rates. That money paid for beer and travel for nearly all of the first term of school. :D

Because when you're at the chippy at 3am, and can't see straight, a deep-fried haggis doused in HP Sauce starts looking mighty tasty.
