maybe it is fruits and thing of it as Chocolate dipped strawberrys!

I can handle chocolate dipped strawberries; I can handle chocolate dipped pretzels. I can even go so far as to do chocolate dipped potato chips - chocolate dipped bacon is going a bit far. The closest my fakin gets mixed is with fakeggs and cheese on an english muffin for a delightful sandwhich.

Besides, believe it or not, DL/NW elite desk is 100000000000 better than my experience with CO elite desk.

[clears throat] and who's been telling you all that, even way back in your UA days? ;)

Yes, it is good. I sent the link to a friend to tell her what we should do and where I made reservations for cheap in NRT to save money!

Thanks, sfogate. I'm thinking my 9:35am flight from IAH-HNL might be oversold for tomorrow, and wouldn't mind taking a bump to the later flight. I'll inquire of the GA when I arrive in IAH from EWR.

How would I know if a flight is oversold. the only reason I am thinking it is is because all the seats are "occupied" on the seat map, but of course I know that isn't necessarily an accurate representation of whether the flight is oversold or not.

Also if a flight is oversold, will they bump passengers up into BF before offering payment, or will they fly with empty BF seats?

My source says that your flight is sold-out in Y but there is room up front. They may do comp-upgrades to make sure everyone makes it. You may just sheck in and see if they need volunters as they may just pick up to go upfront instead of volunteering!

Thanks, Scott. I will certainly check in to see if they need volunteers. Should I do that in EWR before I leave, or at the gate in IAH?

My crystal ball says that your flight is not overbooked.....sorry. But always ask because things can change from moment to moment.

The seat map is a great way to tell if the potential to be bumped is good. No seats means full or possible too full of a flight.

On a domestic flight the GA can and will bump up customers into F, to free up Y Class seats before they bump anyone. After all the Elites eligible to be upgraded are taken care of, I will bump up Elites on reward tickets, maybe Delta Elites and then I look for the highest paid ticket price for the segment that is overselling.

I no longer work BF flights so the rules could be very different.

I would trust SFOGate's crystal ball over mine. If and when you want to volunteer you have to do it in the city where the bump is needed unless asked via the kiosk or online. Either way it is always best to talk to the agent about things.

The one thing the seat map will not tell you, is that a flight might contain a deadheading crew and/or an employee traveling for business or death emergency. These people are confirmed in Y Class and are eligible for an upgrade. They will be upgraded on ALL flights pending on space in F Class.

Thanks, both! I will see what happens. Either way, I get a MR to HNL that is combined with a business trip to ORD and so it's costing me next to nothing to get a whole bunch of EQMs!

Yep - third time this year (New Years, MLK, right now). Leave Tuesday morning but am going to get up early Monday and walk over for breakfast at Bouchon.

Unfortunately, I won't get to see/do much. I'm doing a same day turnaround in HNL. think I arrive around 1pm -ish and leave again at 8pm. Any ideas about what I can do in that short time period?

Very good choice. Looks like I will miss you by a day in LAS. I will be there from W-F.

That is a long time, you could see the whole city FT style! Or drink Box style in the Clubs there.
