I haven't been diverted yet, but I was just wondering about proper Box etiquette for such an event.

Now, we hate the tile in the combination shower room/tub area, and have plans to have it redone in a year or two. At that point in time we might very well replace the plumbing, since the walls will have to be demo'ed anyway. But for now, that's not an option.

I've been dealing with our own plumbing drama. The builder who converted this old warehouse into loft condos several years ago used some Taiwanese made faucets that are next to impossible to find parts for. Recently we decided we should fire up the whirlpool tub in our master bath, which we've never used, only to find out that we had no hot water flow to the tub. Long story short, the problem is not with the supply lines, but the cartridge in the faucet valve. Had this been a major brand faucet, like a Moen, Delta, Peerless, etc., we could walk into nearly any hardware store, pick up the part, and take it home, and be done with it. But no, this part is so obscure nobody even had it in their catalog. I finally located a specialty plumbing place in New York that has the thing, and have to call Monday to find out how much it will cost, and, provided it's not outrageously expensive, place an order.

I'm sure sfogate's issue is probably not as complicated. Most likely it's not the faucet that needs to be replaced, but a it's a lose connection on a supply line.
