I'm coming up on my 12-year OneWorld USA anniversary in two weeks. Looks like I'll hit 1mm around 2018.

When you go to Oregon you must go along the coast and find a place with rocky outcroppings where you can park and get to the beach when the tide is going out. The colorful sea creatures are amazing. Just be mindful that tide changes really fast:D

This weekend's trip is going to involve eastern OR, as I will be flying into BOI.

on that crazy rainy day. I've traveled an awful lot and seldom have had rain :).

Even rainy days can be spectacular. I remember a time at the top of the divide pass that drops down into the Gunnison valley (I think it's Monarch ?). Bright sun, deep cobalt skies, and on every side, at about 8000, white clouds hugging the rocks and trees. Once into those clouds, pouring rain.

Read the vouchers. it depends.

I've never seen a UA dollar voucher that doesn't earn. The DBCFree vouchers do not, but the dollar ones all do IME.

That is true. Once there was a rain storm before I went to Arches with turned everything a gorgeous orange and quite the photo-op except we all kept falling down because that darn dust was so slippery:rolleyes:. I went to the rain forest in Olympic National Park in WA and never saw a drop of rain though:cool:

Catching up, I noticed you were thinking about new stuff to do in/around SFO. Have you ever been to Point Reyes? Lighthouse, cliffs, beaches, whale watching, seals (not sea otters, I believe). It's at the end of the main drag through Marin County, but hard to get to on mass transit.

Oh, and the place where the San Andreas fault comes inland. It is literally right on the fault line.

Yes to Point Reyes, lighthouse, beaches and seals (took a bike). Never saw whales though although after a trip to San Juan Islands with 3 pods of Orcas entertaining us for the day I'm really spoiled on that:D I think the hardest part of repeating a trip is the first big AHHH moment never seems as good the second or third time. Now a real genunie CA earthquake would be much more exciting than the little 3.0 tremor we had here 15-20 years ago.^

Any suggestions? <$500 and either a beach or mountain destination.

You could join us in PVR!
