Looking at teh pic on yahoo.com, the call could have gone either way. The lineman was in the best place to see it happen. It is hard to (really) complain about that call.

Dempsey is just snakebit tonight.

Not saying it's a flawed measure; better than nothing, but the heat index doesn't seem to really tell the story.
Just out sitting in the shade, with a 92 index, and still sweating and feeling the "pressure" of the air on skin. In PHX, TUS, or PSP, with 20-handle humidity and 95, it feels downright pleasant to me in the shade. Plus, I think some people feel humidity worse than others. I'm definitely in the "drier the better" camp, as I tend to sweat easily. Teh Pit would not be the place for me from April-November. |

Announcers pointed out that FIFA in 2000 or so said that in cases of borderline calls the benefit of the doubt goes to the attacking player. Therefore, that was a goal.

Wonderful teleconference flop today when Bangalore couldn't get in sync with the US so we had to call India (33 min of 60 min call) then with a 40 second delay on a live demo - fail:td::td: We get to repeat this twice a week for months:rolleyes:

Yes, but it is also clear to anyone who's watched the last two matches that team USA has played that FIFA doesn't want the USA to advance to the knockout round...so, team USA is going to have to outscore Algeria in such a fashion that a referee cannot disqualify it if they want to move forward.

The chances to score are amazing. Ugh! Tough game to watch.

The frigging Algerians can't even put the ball in their own net.

What is the deal with all these USA shots sailing over the net by a few feet? Adrenaline is a beyotch I guess.
