Still no Wyndham / BD miles in icurhere2-world
but alas- "Due to a technical error we are unable to log you in at the moment. We are working to fix the error and you will be able to log in soon. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused." Note to BMI, just send Brooklyn and you can have the miles |

I didn't expect to hear the following when I called WN:
"Someone's going to love you for canceling a Standard Award in July."

I'm finding watching Deadliest Catch a bit difficult knowing we are real close to Capt. Phil's passing.

Plus1. Great book, too. One of the better book -> movie adaptations I've seen.
Now I'm inspired to make a top 5 list of book --> movie adaptations. ;) ETA a suitable post number given my metropolitan area of residence. |
Going out to see what the new benefit is, it appears that if I fly on miles which I don't have, and held a credit card which I don't hold, then I might get upgraded after rev silvers.
More interesting is the speculation on the card name "Onepass Plus." Sources of unknown placement or reliability inside Chase indicated that it has something to do with the merger. If there were to become a meme regarding that as the Brick's new program name, I can just see the eruption on the UA board now. Personally, I credit none of it, but do think there might be some kernel of truth to the rumor of changes in GS. As I understand it to be, it is currently constituted much like CO*, with uncertain if not arbitrary standards and benefits. Standing alongside the well constituted and quite democratic Pres. Plat., there might well be movement of the former towards the latter, even with likely a year or more remaining of separate but unequal running of the two programs. But even that could well induce movement in that seismically unstable forum. |

What made it particularly good was that the setting of the book was changed pretty dramatically in the movie without affecting the tone (unlike, say, "Fever Pitch").
Now I'm inspired to make a top 5 list of book --> movie adaptations. ;) 1) High Fidelity 2) The Shawshank Redemption 3) Big Trouble 4) About a Boy 5) The Lord of the Rings trilogy |
