Ummm, you are nuts. I drove IAH-LBB-IAH about 30 times when I was in college (well before my flying days) and would consider paying $400 r/t (which is about what a full Y ticket was running 4 years ago) before driving.
Then again, I was driving a '92 Bronco and gas cost me an arm and a leg. |

Jebus, Ive been on the phone with CO for over an hour. They did a schedule change that effected one of my flights by almost 2 hours. This happens to be a DCA-IAH-ONT-IAH-DCA run where I will also be spending 4-5 hours on a bus so I'm not to happy about getting into DCA after 1 pm on a Sunday. Currently fighting for a IAH-EWR flight and if this doesnt work I think I'm going to cancel and refund.

Same here. Though my price point would be more like $320-$350.

The total cost of the trip is more than just out of pocket expenses. @:-)

I'm placing an increasing premium on the sanity component. :-:
I drove EWR-OCF once, and that was enough. I wouldn't want to do EWR-FLL by car, at least in my own car. If the airfare was so cost prohibitive I would probably rent a car to drive it. :-: |

Thank you for the links. I'm guessing it's just copy and paste with all the | included?
I would be driving a Honda Civic and not stopping for a hotel. I've done the drive from PHL-IAH (2 times) without stopping and one time with 2 overnight stops, and this would be a breeze. Figure about 3-4 fill-ups each way and stopping for food/bathroom, I should be good and cost less than $336 R/T. Plus, I wouldn't need to rent a car in FLL.:-: |

If I were faced with driving that distance or not going, I would not go, unless it were for some very important reason. YMMV.

Good morning box.

Just perusing the ANA website and their reconfigured 773ER. It sure looks nice, and they did 2x4x3 in Y (and 34" pitch). Too bad I've been to Japan and their Y fares are way too  to pay for it and the trek the JFK.
And yes, I've gone to JFK for more of my international flights than EWR. :o |
