I don’t feel qualified to comment since I have never been in the armed forces but I wont let that stop me. I don’t think it is “wrong” for you to feel that way. I don’t think many people understand the friendships and bonds that are developed and strengthened in the combat zone. You have to completely trust the people you are working with to save you’re a$$ if things go south and you want to know that they can and will if needed. Most jobs don’t have that. I can understand the feeling and I can understand her being upset. That is natural.
