Had an interview today, the 2 days after submitting my resume (and 1 day after the company sent an email and left a voice mail on 2 different phone numbers wanting to set the interview up)

Got to the office, and the person I was to meet was in an 'emergency' meeting with the CEO about recruitment. Interview started 20 minutes late, but went well. Got a tour around the building, and met the CEO too, and a "we'll get in touch with you tomorrow" farewell from the interviewer (Matt).

Stopped to thank the secretary on the way out, and she asked if they actually offered me the position. Told her no, but would find out Friday. She said OK, and we chatted for a few more minutes. Matt comes up to the desk, kinda surprised to see me still there. He asks if I am interested in the position (PHP/MySQL work) and I say yes, I believe so. "So do you want to talk salary and such now?" "Um, OK."

So back to the conference room, and after a nice presentation of all the goodies that go along with the position, I now have a new job :D:D:D

Stopped by the secretary's desk on the way out (why yes, she is cute) and told her I'll be back on Monday. She said good, because she liked me better than the last interviewee, and she could tell Matt liked me better too.

Start Monday for a week of partial day "get acquainted" stuff (but getting paid for a full day).

Is possible things may be finally turning around? Man, I hope so...

Yup...VB is all I've used for the past 15 years or so. This is quite eye-opening. The good news is that I'm making pretty decent progress. The bad news is that the Android emulator doesn't really support debugging so a lot of it is a crap shoot as to what I need to fix when it crashes. And that happens a lot.
I got 3-4 miles in round 1. Best for round 3 was 31 miles on FRA. Over 25K points first time through. :D

I am doing better the second time, I think. ETA: I got Porto by 3 miles in round 3. :cool:

Is it wrong that seeing guys from my old office on :rolleyes:book is making me miss being in the combat zone? Pretty sure the other half would kill me in my sleep if I tried to go back in uniform.
