Hartmann, Teh 4P Brauneck is also a Cat 1. You could have a suite on a full points redemption for less than the points component of a standard room at teh LM Munchen on a C&P Award.

We have six nights in München and rates at the Le Meridien are fairly steep. Do we stay a couple of nights there and the rest at the Sheraton Westpark? I'm really disappointed that there are no hotels within a short distance of MUC and that the ones that are charge a fee for a hotel shuttle  I liked the neighborhood around the train station well enough. The 4P near there is out of the way and gets terrible reviews. I can recommend a decent hostel or independent 3* hotel if you're interested. |
Also, don't overlook the 4P Dornbirn in Austria Proper. Dornbirn and the Bodensee are supposed to be very nice, and Zurich and Innsbruck are just short train rides away. Also, the 4P Dornbirn is often rated the best/nicest 4P in the world.

I would not stay out by MUC unless you really have activities out there. It is not close to town. Do you really need to be out there? I don't recall there being anything but an airport out there....
If you are really lucky, there will be some of the local FTers around who would be pleased to meet you for dinner at the beer garden in between the terminals. |

How do EUAs work on IAH-SEA-ANC when both segments are operated with the same flight number (and it was ticketed as a single flight)? Can you clear on each individual segment or do both need to have availability to clear?
Our IAH-SEA-ANC flight for September went from a 738 to a 753. :-: Code:

Well, we'll be doing a bunch of stuff in and around MUC and would rather not repack everything to change hotels.
I thought about doing a few nights in SZG but those rates are even more  Another MUC option if you do have an early flight is to stay in Schwabing and take the early LH bus to the airport. We have been at the Marriott and the Renaissance up there and both are more than adequate and convenient to the U-Bahn. |
I suppose I should leave and find the rest of the box.

You guys have a good time tonight; I'm going home.

Hi... New here to all of you... but I do know about moving/ shipping wine. If the wine is of any value to you, you absolutely can't ship it through that area at that time of year. Most good wine shops will not ship wine in late spring or summer at all, because sitting on docks, waiting in traffic jams, or waiting overnight in parking lots while truck driver sleeps in motel in warm weather totally destroys wine. Refridgerated shipping is available but expensive... It (the wine) doesn't really need to be chilled, but you probably don't want to risk temps in excess of 68F.
Things I do: Get one large wheeled cooler. Put comforter in bottom. Roll bottles in paper bags/ towels (both pads and insulates). Put thin mylar emergency blanket over top. Put ice into large ziplock bags on top of this. You can then reduce temps by removing and replacing this ice without moving wine. Get room on ground floor or with elevator and you can wheel wine to your room. If getting cooler in and out of car is hard, make 3-4 packets of wrapped and padded wine bottles in separate large bags, so you can lift them out in batches, lift empty cooler, and put them back in cooler to roll it to your room. Unless you are transporting vintage port cool and dry is the only real goal. Nice to meet all of you. Cat
