Just landed in SEA. Huge ^ and thank you to my jackal who served as chauffeur. :P

After getting booted from my lie-flat coach seat in 22ABC for my seat in F, I am seriously exhausted!

Plan is to buy a building and become a slumlord out there. Extra income = extra travel. I can deal with it being in Brooklyn for that.

Glad you made it... ;)

Sorry about the downgrade... did someone end up in that row?

Contemplating a run to the BR... not sure if jackal is game or not (it opens in a half hour)

^^ I'm looking for a place "near" the big apple ;). Rental rates? or do you accept section 8?

I don't have anything yet; likely after labor day before I know much more...

For Texans, Real Ale's new "Devil's Backbone" is a pretty good Belgian style beer. ^

Mornin' Box!

mwg25 May 17, 2010 7:18 am

Good morning, all. I finally feel decently rested for the first time in days. Honestly, the minor inconvenience of working Saturdays is basically offset by the sheer decency of not starting till 11 AM on Mondays. It gives me a 47.5 hour weekend - and makes redeye returns completely feasible. :)

Both? :p tjtenor4 and I spent his most recent birthday on a day-trip to SEA, with a couple of segments to bookend the day. It actually started off with our first ever flight sitting next to each other. Row 9 on UA p.s. - not a bad start. :D

As soon as this merger is complete everything forward will be thought of as UA regardless of Jeff and the corporate culture that will be taking over.

I would much rather the CO named remained instead of getting the livery. No one is ever really going to remember the paint job, just the name. :( I will retire as a UA employee, not a CO employee. :td:

I don't know if this has been shared on this forum, but someone on another site came up with a really pretty hybridized design that merged the ideas of the globe and the tulip. Also, it was gold and gray, which is one of my personal favorite color combinations. I'm always happy to see airline liveries that are something other than heavily blue (usually with red as secondary color) - there is SO much of that. TG all the way. ^

The link was here but seems to be broken - not sure if it's temporary or not. :td:

+1. Before 2008 I would have NEVER thought that I'd end up in this state, but I was pleasantly surprised - at least by the area that I live in. There is more to NJ than Newark and the Jersey Shore, but you'd never know it from the mass media.

I'm working on the same project myself. Generally, he'll eat medium/medium-rare if it's given to him, but we're not yet to the point where he won't revert back to quasi-carbon if cooking it himself/ordering at a restaurant. Sigh...

We stayed there on choir tour 3 weeks ago. It's definitely a bit of a dive, but fine as long as you're not expecting much, and as msv said, in the "Boston" (it's at LEAST a half hour's drive from the city - think north of Salem) market, it can be a reasonably priced option.

It DOES smell strongly of smoke in the hallways/some rooms, though. :td:

Funny you should mention it. I enjoyed a pint of it not far from the Devil's Backbone (Wimberly) this weekend. ^

In other news...
