In other news, kingalien is looking for a vendor for one of these. :D

LOL. Damn is right. That is some nice hardware concept.

If you are talking about this Wednesday. You will have plenty of room to stretch out and take a nice nap.

Poo. Thanks for correcting that...for all I know she was reading the wrong GDS line.

He brought it up at dinner on Friday.

I thought it was pretty :-:

I have a feeling the 319s and 320s won't last long. There is a healthy resale market for those from what I understand and I'm sure CO could get more 737s.

My completely uninformed speculation as to new route possibilities:

From IAH (United's Largest Hub ):
Likely:
SCL
MAD
MUC
Possibly:
HKG
PEK
PVG
OGG
KOA

From ORD:
Possibly:
PTY (also wondering whether UA/CO will  at CM for IAD-PTY)

From SFO/LAX:
GUM

From EWR/IAD:
Likely:
WAW
BUD
IST
PRG
HEL
DME (from EWR)
GIG (nonstop from EWR)
EZE (nonstop from EWR)
Possibly:
LOS
LYS
KBP
ALA (Oil Route)

I think the management team may just go DL for a while, throwing extra widebodies at routes and seeing what sticks. It will be an interesting change from the past few years, where widebody shortages were the norm.

I'm still not sure what equipment they'd use for IAH-SCL. I completely agree with MUC and I like sdm1130's suggestion of IAH-BRU for connections to SN's major African network: http://www.brusselsairlines.com/com/.../destinations/

I'll wait a few months to dust off my "move the Star partners to EWR from JFK" argument.

If they move over or add p.s. service out of EWR, it makes a lot of sense to have the * flights into EWR over JFK.

Your buddy from the Do IV brunch should step up and offer to facilitate sales. :D

Yow. Apparently, the weapon is rated to ~5,000 feet, so dropping a guy from that far out is seriously impressive. Wonder what the drop is on a shot that far away...

They'd have to get a good deal on the sale otherwise they are around at least 7 years.

My bet would be on a 762 or 763. :-: nonstop service from N. America to SCL is extremely limited (YYZ-SCL on AC). I think the route has the potential to print money (based on entirely uninformed speculation), as IAH is an excellent connection point from just about anywhere on the East or West coast for SCL, compared to YYZ.

I've always thought that it makes sense with or without p.s. - the creation of connecting traffic alone makes it worth the move.

Although now that there is no longer a shortage of widebodies, I can see the new entity trying to open new routes.

Happy birthday fearless leader MBM3.

The united flyers are hilarious.

Ditto on both counts.

Another apparent upgrade failure where it really should have cleared. A number of excuses offered, including "no meal catered." :(

Off to row the oars in row 41 of the LH slave ship.
