Random question for teh Box. When you use a PDA boarding pass, what do you do when you have to show the boarding pass at the WTMD?

I agree -- pretty clear that it's far from 'perfect'!:rolleyes:

Watch this. Yes, it's in German -- but it's easy to understand what's going on. The manufacturer of the machine is operating it and the guest demonstrates (starting at about 2:10) how it misses all sorts of things, including a bullet, some thermite, etc. Near the end they go outside for a little demonstration using the concealed items. I should post that in TS&S...

I can see two reactions to that in TS&S. One is how easy it is to hide. The other will be in favor of tightening the liquid ban.

I can see how those two reactions would arise from that video!

Sadly, it is.

I had a strange problem with a UA ticket involving being ticketed for the wrong day. I called UA and after being told "no" by the web support people 4 times and by a web support supervisor 3 times, they finally saw it my way, made the change for free, and even stuck me on a CO codeshare nonstop instead of a UA connection. ^ :p ^

In my experience, you no longer have to do that.

I haven't flown through an airport that required the boarding pass at the WTMD in over a year. And I haven't ever flown through an airport that required it that was allowing the electronic boarding passes. Most airports you can just put the boarding pass away after the ID check these days.

Had a nice shopping trip - visited another Kroger in town which gave me free mussels for tomorrow (Friday during Lent); the one with the wrong price earlier this week was the one I visit the least frequently of the three.

After the  at the Sheraton this morning, this evening I'm at the Westin Canal Place in New Orleans. Usually stay at the W here, but doing the Westin since it's a little cheaper and because of the Westin Amazon gift card promo that's currently running. Anyway, at check-in was told about the free Internet for Platinums, was asked about my preference for the amenity (always do the points here), and that I was upgraded to a suite on the 28th floor (already saw the upgrade online). Suite is pretty nice. Not the best I've ever had with SPG, but recently renovated, and easily 900 square feet or so in size. And, I've got an amazing view from up here. Totally different experience from the Sheraton in Baton Rouge.

Good to hear that the day has gone better for you -- vis-a-vis hotels!^
