Why would you think this is unusual? This is pretty standard in most industries.
Of course the companies I worked for were kind enough to have patent programs, so we would see a buck or two. But that was just it - a buck or two. They owned the IP. End of story. |

What you do is think of the idea and do the job till you are tired of it, then design the product/idea based on your prior experience, not while you are on the clock with them or being paid by them.

+1. I did not find UA's options to be that appealing.

I didn't really think it was unusual, per se. I was surprised that the company would be interested in my position to that point, and to be fair it's also the first one of those I've signed - first global company I have worked at where the focus was not hospitality activities of some sort.
It sounds like a good opportunity to have, regardless. Because even if you don't have ownership, it still looks good on the old resume. :) |

Living out by Philly now but getting married in the general area of the Shore really makes me feel like we are planning a destination wedding...just without the benefit of EQM's.

Not sure how I feel about it. I saw it coming when they reduced meal type options.
It's odd to me that Scott (and other CO management) has always touted the meals at mealtime to be a huge differentiator in the market for CO, yet they're abandoning that. Maybe if they considered lowering prices on fares, more people would be flying. I'm sorry, but $400 to do IAH-RDU in May just isn't competitive.

Just in case you haven't discovered this, when the Android software auto-corrects something and you don't want it to auto-correct, hit the backspace key once. It will rollback the auto-correct and leave the word as you originally typed it. Then hit the space key once to go on to the next word.

Now that free meals are out the window, CO appears to be moving on to pushing their "working together culture".
